THE PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER, THURSDAY MORNING, MAY 27, 1971 18 a KQ-5 Death Notices K-05 Death Notices KQ-5 Death Notices Harry Yohlin Dies; Law Firm Harry Yohlin, a partner in the law firm of Krekstein, Yohlin Wolfson, 1845 Walnut died Wednesday at Tem ple University Hospital. He was 52 and resided at 1613 Juniper Elkins Park. Mr. Yohlin, a specialist in estate planning and Federal taxation, formerly had been a member of the law firms of Polisher, Steinberg Yohlin, and Goodis, Greenfield, Narin Mann. Born in Beliatzerkov, Russia, and educated in Philadelphia, Mr.

Yohlin was a graduate of Central High School and received a B. A. degree at Temple University in 1939 and an LLB in 1942. He was a member of the American, Pennsylvania and Philadelphia Bar Associations and the Tax Section of the Philadelphia Bar. He was a lecturer at the New York University Tax Institute, University of Pennsylvania Tax Conference, American Law Institute, Tax Institute of the Society of CPAs, and other tax forums.

Mr. Yohlin was a past president of the YM and YWHA, a trustee of the Federation of Jewish Agencies, the first chairman of the Lawyers' Committee of the Jewish Agencies' Endowment Program, and served on the boards of directors of the Federation of Jewish Agencies and the Federation of Jewish Agencies' Foundation. In addition to writing numerous articles for legal and tax journals, Mr. Yohlin co-authored two books, K. Lasser's Income Tax Techniques" and "Taxation of Deferred Employe and Executive Compensation." Mr.

Yohlin was an Army veteran of World War II, and a member of Temple Sinai and its board of directors, and the Ashbourne Country Club. Obituaries JOHN J. THOMPSON, pro ject administrator for the In dustrial Division of Honeywell Inc. at Fort Washington, died Monday at Lower Bucks Hospital, Bristol. He" was 50 and lived at 2 Blue Ridge turn, Levittown, Pa. Born in Northeast Philadelphia, Mr.

Thompson was a graduate of Roman Catholic High School and LaSalle College, 1949. Senate OKs 'Bus' Welfare Bill ALBANY, N. Y. (UPI). The state Senate has approved a bill to requirer a residence of one year in New York State before a person can receive welfare benefits. The bill, proposed by Gov Nelson A.

Rockefeller, is certain to face a court test of its consititutionality. Under the legislation, wel fare applicants living in the state less than one year would be given a one-way ticket back to where they came from. C. Royall Truman's Army Secretary, 76 Kenneth C. Royall, secretary of the Army under President Harry Truman, in Durham, N.C. Mr. Royall, a native of Golds boro, N.

served overseas in both world wars. In the spring of 1945 he became special assistant to the secretary of war and K. ROYALL later that year he was named undersecretary of war. Mr. Truman appointed him secretary of war in July, 1947.

Under tie armed forces unification program, Mr. Royal was named secretary of the Army in September of that year. In April 1949, he resigned after several requests that he be allowed to return to private life. Ho joined a New York law firm. Mr.

Royall served one term in the North Carolina Senate and was president of the North Carolina Bar Association in 1929-30. Frank Cocniff, 57, former national editor of Hearst Newspapers and corecipient of the Pulitzer Prize in 1955, in New YorK. A war correspondent in World War II, Mr. Conniff shared the Pulitzer Prize in 1955 with William Randolph Hearst Jr. and Kingsbury Smith for interviews by the trio with former Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev for In ternational News Service.
