Intercity truck tonnage in the week ended May 2 was 33.5 percent below the volume in the corresponding week of 1969, according to the American trucking Associations. Truck tonnage was 3.8 percent above that of the previous week of this year. A survey of 400 truck terminals in 34 metropolitan areas for last week showed decreased tonnage from a year ago at all points except San Francisco which showed an increase.
