T. Farrell, X-Ray Pioneer, Is Dead at 67 Dr. John Thompson Farrell, a pioneer in X-ray techniques in the gastrointestinal field, died Friday in Jefferson Medical College Hospital. He was 6 67. Dr.

Farrell, who lived at 1302 Spruce st. and had offices in the Medical Tower Building, served as president of the Philadelphia County Medical Society in 1956 and as president of the Pennsylvania Medical Society in 1958 and 1959. PENN PROFESSOR He was professor of clinical radiology at the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Medicine and was the author of "Roentgen Diagnosis of Diseases of the Gastrointestinal Tract." Dr. Farrell served as roentgenologist at Lankenau Hospital from 1941 to 1948 and in a similar capacity at White Haven Sanatorium from 1931 to 1946. He was a graduate of Hobart College and received his medical doctor's degree at Jefferson Medical College in 1922.

WROTE ARTICLE In 1956, Dr. Farrell contributed one of a series of articles appearing in The Inquirer on "Success," dealing theories of life and the successful man. He is survived by his wife, the former Miriam Ott, and a sister, Mrs. Cecil Metcalf. Services will be at 1 P.

He was 49. Mr. Craigie was eastern sales manager for the Brown and Foreman Co. until moving to Louisville, where he owned the Personnel Exchange an employment agency. A graduCentral High School and Ursinus College, Mr.

Craigie received a master's degree from American University before serving as a field artillery captain in the Second World War. He is survived by his wife, Louise; a daughter, Laura; his mother, Mrs. Morgan Craigie, and a brother. CHARLES E. DAVIS, employe of the Kirk and Nice funeral home, died Friday at Germantown Hospital.

He was 71 and lived at 131. E. Tulpehocken st. Surviving are his wife, the former Helen Ferguson; a son, Charles a daughter, Mrs. Rodman Dunbar, eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

For the past two years, during the illness of president George P. Marshall, Mr. De Orsey ran the Redskins. As a noted tax attorney, he was adviser for entertainer Arthur Godfrey and the late radio-TV commentator Edward R. Murrow, among others.

In 1959, when a prominent government official asked him to represent the original mercury astronauts he accepted without pay. Two of his investments for them stirred key controversies: the purchase of a Cape Canaveral motel and the million dollar contract with Life Magazine for personal stories. Russell H. Dobbins, who was chauffeur for two Presidents and other dignitaries many years ago, in West Orange, N. J.

He was 71. Mr. Dobbins began driving for textile magnate Campbell Clark at his estate in Elberon in 1913. That led to his chauffeuring President Woodrow Wilson, ex President Theodore Roosevelt and other notables including Al Smith and J. P.

Morgan when they came to New Jersey. Mr. Dobbins became an employe of the Essex county Park Commission in 1921 and was made superintendent of maintenance for the eastern division 10 years later. Thomas Burns Morton, retired Federal mediator, a former Virginia commissioner of labor and industry and onetime Richmond city councilman, in Richmond, Va. He was 83.

From 1942 until his retirewith the Federal Mediation ment in 1957, Mr. Morton was Service, mediating labor dispute in Virginia, Delaware, Ohio and North Carolina. Before becoming a mediator, he had served for four yearsfrom 1938-42-as commissioner of labor and industry for Virginia. He was appointed by the late Gov. James H.

Price. Mrs. Agnes Creighton Rumsey Goodman, a former book and magazine editor, in Rowayton, Conn. She was 56. Mrs.

Goodman was the widow of Jack A. Goodman, a former vice president and executive editor of Simon Schuster, who died in 1957. She was associated with her husband as an editor in the publishing firm until his death and was also an editor of Cosmopolitan Magazine. John Stephens, Executive, 51 John H. Stephens, a vice president and director of Tactair, manufacturers of aircraft equipment in Bridgeport, Montgomery county, died Saturday in Bryn Mawr Hospital.

He was 51 and lived at 100 Evans lane, Haverford. Mr. Stephens was an aeronautical engineer, a graduate of the Universities of Texas and Michigan, and a member of the National Association of Manufacturers. He was a cofounder of the Aircraft Products and Equipment Corp. in 1941 and a partner in the successor firm of Aircraft Products Clifton Heights, in 1942.

From 1949 to 1951 he was also a member of the board of directors of the McCormack- Co. He was a member Merion Cricket Club. of the J. CLARK GLEESON, re- John Z. Harner, Civic Leader in Boyertown, 92 John Z.

Harner, Boyertown civic and business leader, died Saturday in Reading Hospital. He was 92 and lived at 600 Highland Boyertown. Mr. Harner was chairman of the board and of the Union Manufacturing an iron foundry specializing in the reproduction of antique iron works. He also founded the Fashion Hosiery Mill and was a founder and board member of the Boyertown Savings and Loan Association.

BOYERTOWN BURGESS During the First World War he served as acting burgess. of Boyertown and for was a member of the borough council. He was active in Masonic affairs and was a past of the Stichter Lodge, master, A.M, Pottstown. He was a charter member and chaplain of the Boyertown Rotary Club, was also a director the Schwenkfelder Library at the Perkiomen Preparatory School. SURVIVED BY WIFE His interest in the Pennsylvania German folklore led him into active participation in many cultural includling the Pennsylvania' German Folklore Society, of which he was a director, and the Lehigh County Historical Society, He was an elder and trustee of St.

Sarah Paynter, at 102 one of the city's oldest residents, died Friday at her home, 6126 Belden st. In good, health for most of her long life, she became bedridden two years ago. Mrs. Paynter, born Sarah Bates in Glendale, New Jersey, during the Civil War, came to Philadelphia as a young girl. Her husband, George, who was employed in the city's electrical bureau, died 17 years ago.

Alexander, the former Nancy Arnold, was 46 and lived at 35 Red Oak Oreland. She was a member of the Republican Club of Springfield township, the Republican Women's Club of Pennsylvania the Hills Country Club, and founder of the Young Republican Club of Springfield township. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are her mother, Mrs. Evie S. Arnold; a son, James and a daughter, Robyn Lee.

IGNATIUS CHARLES ZENS, a retired barber, died Wednesday at Haverford Hospital. He was 81 and lived at 1722 Academy lane, Havertown. A member of the Master Barbers Association, Mr. Zens for 50 years operated a shop at 907 N. 2d st.
