Humphrey, the President told about 5000 well-wishers at Dulles International Airport and a Shaferfor Governor! EDITORIAL Most voters, we are confident, are viewing the contest for the Governorship of Pennsylvania in the light of the competence, the credibility and the integrity of the opposing candidates. Who is better qualified, on such a basis, for Governor: Raymond Shafer, with his proven ability; or Milton Shapp, with his pin-wheel ideas? With the Republican nominee as Governor, the people know they will have faithful and sane handling of the State's business, with progress and prosperity his goals of achievement. Milton Shapp as Governor, however, is something simply too alarming to contemplate. Here is a man so desperate in feeding his personal ambitions that he would spend virtually his entire fortune to make himself Governor' Here is a supreme egotist who distorts the outstanding record of the Scranton Administration; who has the effrontery to picture Pennsylvania as one big blighted area. Ignorant of the workings of State government; contemptuous of team-play, he has made his candidacy for Governor an embarrassment to most leaders of his own party and a severe handicap to candidates running for other offices on the Democratic ticket.

It is a relief to turn to the capable and steadfast Raymond Shafer after any comparison with his opponent. Raymond Shafer is a man you can trust. This newspaper is proud to support him in next Tuesday's election.
