In an "epidemic update" Dec. 1, which was also World AIDS Day, the agency said 36.1 million people worldwide have HIV or AIDS. It counted 21.8 million AIDS deaths group on AIDS hosted by Archbishop Lozano 's Pontifical Council for Health Care Workers. No date had been set to publish the document, but "by the end of next year, we could have something more substantial," he told CNS.
