and THAT The annual pienic breakfast of Abdallah Temple will be held Sunday, June 7, from 7-10 a.m. at Shrine Park. Don V. Williams, potentate, said preparations are being made to serve more 2,000 Shriners and their families, Arrangements are being directed by Captain James Hobbs of the Abdallah Foot Patrol, one of the Temple's several uniformed units. Headquarters of the Foot Patrol are in Leavenworth.

The 1961 breakfast marks the 31st year for this event. St. John Hospital will begin operation in its new location, 3200 South 4th Street on Saturday, June 6. 1961. Admissions have been halted at the old hospital.

Patients will be accepted for admission al 12:00 noon Saturday at the New Hospital. Parents are responsible for supervising their children's play in the pool. The Recreation Commission will have a supervisor on duty all day Friday, but not on Saturday or Sunday. The playtime program at Tot-Lot will be an organized, supervised activity. The program will consist of story telling, group games, music appreciation, rhythm band and crafts. This type of activi1y program will be conducted in the Hawthorn Park TotLot from 9 a.m.

1o 12 noon each Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The Friday program will be given over with play in the pool and the beach type sand area adjacent to the pool. There will be sand buckets and shovels, beach balls and equipment suited to both water and sand play. There are no fees and the program is open to children upon registration. Sport Late KANSAS CITY (AP) The Kansas City Athletics signed another bonus player today, John Frank Sanders, 18, an outfielder. Sanders, who was graduated Wednesday night from Grand Island, High School, was a star in football, basketball and track, but his high school did did not have a baseball team. As a member of the Grand Island American Legion team he compiled a batting average of .390 over a three-year period. He bats and throws right-handed. He is 6-2 and weighs 195.

Leslie Parks. 70, 101 Columbia, a resident of Leavenworth for 60 years, died Wednesday tvening at the VA Hospital. He had been in failing health for the past eight years. Mr. Parks was born June 2, 1894, in McFall, the son of Mr.

and Mrs. Frank L. Parks. The family came to Leavenworth in 1905. He attendcd local public schools, and as a young man went to work for the glove factory, He retired eight years ago.

He enlisted in the Army on Sept. 18, 1917, and was discharg1d March 1, 1919, serving as a corporal in the Quartermaster Corps. On Oct. 10, 1952, he was married here in Leavenworth to Mrs. Pearl Schulmeister.

He was a member of the Evangelical United Brethren Church and served as church treasurer for over 30 years. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Pearl Parks of the home; one brother, Caryl Parks, 206 Maple St. and three stepdaughters, Mrs. Dorothy Henry, Gifford, Mrs.

Alpha Towle, Mobile, and Mrs. Lois Guenther, 1108 N. 12th. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Sexton Funeral Chapel.

Burial will be in Mt. Muncie: Cemetery. The body is at the chapel. W. C.

Goodwin Graveside Rites Funeral service for William C. 58, a former member of the VA Center, who was found dead in his room at Delaware Wednesday night, will be held at 3:30 p.m. Friday at the graveside in the National Cemetery, Ft. Leavenworth. Mr.

F. Oberdiek Dies Wednesday C. F. Oberdiek, 72. East Leavenworth, died Wednesday night at Cushing Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Oberdiek had been in failing health the past. five months and had been a hospital pallent for the past two weeks. Mr. Oberdick was born Jan.

19, 1892, at East Leavenworth, a son of J. H. and Minnie Robker Oberdiek. He lived on A farm at East Leavenworth. On Dec.

16, 1914 at East. Leavenworth, he was married to Miss Mary Massman. Mrs. Oberdiek survives him. He was a life member of St.

John's Lutheran Church at Farley. Other than his widow, Mrs. Mary Oberdiek of the home he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Leona Sillik, 503 Maple and Mrs. Elsie Moppin, Plaite City, one brother, John F.

Oberdiek, Farley; one sister, Miss Dora Oberdiek, East. Leavenworth, and five grandchildren. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. John's Lutheran Church.

The Rev. G. W. Zunker, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the family lot in the Platte City Cemetery.
