Andred Lessner of Rosewood Heights. Announcement was made of a luncheon and" card parly for members of the clnb Oct. 11 at the Hostess House at Alton. Mrs. E.

L. Klm- mel and a committee consisting of Mrs. Zoda Lumley, Mrs. E. R.

Quinn and Mrs, Lessner, will be in charge arrangements. Mrs. F. W. Bauer, past president, gave a report on the National Federation of Woman's Clubs convention she recently attended at New York City.

A report of the state federation meeting was read by Mrs. Fulp, who attended the meetings at Chicago. The next meeting of the club will be Sept. 23, at which each members will bring a guest. Miss Dorothy Colonlus of Alton will present a book review.

The club year books were given during the meeting. Mrs. J. P. Breitweiser presided at the refreshment table.

Gets Scholarship Brock, son of Mrs. Dorothy Brock of this city, a graduate with the class of 1947 of the local high school, has received a scholarship to the undergraduate school of the University of Illinois at Galesburg and also a certificate of recognition of his qualities of leadership presented by the Danforth Foundation.

Brock's name will also be listed on the honor roll of the Danforth Foundation. Brock left Monday for Galesburg. Marriage Licenses CARROLLTON. Clerk Dwight Coonrod issued two marriage licenses over the week-end. One Sept.

4 was to Howard Guthrie of Barry and Miss Lcith Norine Watt of White Hall. The other was issued Sept. 6 to Clyde Ruyle and Mrs. Eileen Weber, both of White Hall. Jersey Auxiliary Installs Officers Hilyard Home Bureau Meets JERSEYVILLE, Sept.

10 Mrs. Emma Powell was Installed as of the Worthy Post, Am- and Mrs. er iman Legion Auxiliary, Monday Joseph Pranger are announcing he engagement of their youngest daughter, Doris, to George Kaiser of this city. The date of the wedding was not announced. Miss Pranger is a graduate of St.

John's High School, class of 947, and is employed in the Kroger store here. Kaiser is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Tohn Kaiser and is also a grad- mte of St. John's High School in he class of 1943.
