Blotevogel, 55, a former employe of Commonwealth Steel In Granite City, and a life-long resident of Worden, died Wednrsdny at 6:45 p. in St. Francis Hospital, Litchfield, following an extended Illness. He had been a patient in the hospital since Friday. He was born in Wordrn, Aug.

25, 1892, a son of the late William Blotevogel, and Mrs. Emolio Blotr- vogel. He was married Oct. 13 1915, lo Miss Florence Somniers of St. Louis, who died in February of 1943.

On Nov. 13 of 1943, ho married to Miss Lillian Schniedcr of Worden, who survives him. Also surviving in addition to his wife and mother, are a son, Arthur C. Blotevogel, and a daughter Mrs. Violet Ruemmler of Worden children of his first marriage, and two sisters, Mrs.

Martha Finke, Edwardsville; Mrs. Emma Ooton Worden, six brothers, Fred, Car' penler, and George, Edward, Albert and Walter, Worden, and four grandchildren. Funeral riles will be conducted Saiurday at 2 p. in Trinity Lulheran Church, Worden, of which he was a member. Burial will be in Hie church cemetery.

The body is at Worden funeral home where friends may call tonight and until noon Saturday, when it will be taken to the church from 1 to 2 p. m. Society. CLUBS PAR11U WEDDING! TBAt DANCtt RKCEPTION8 Hospital Notes Dwight Stobba, 13, son of Mr. and Mrs.

Walter K. Stobhs of 3319 Jackson street, who became ill two weeks ago following his return home from camp is a patient in Barnes Hospital, St. Louis, for diagnosis and treatment. He is suffering from a virus infection, his mother reported, but definte diagnosis of his illness has not been made. If improvement shown in the past, few days continues it is planned to bring him home shortly, relatives slated.

Patients admitted to St. Joseph's Hospital Wednesday for medical treatment included Mrs. Eleanor Fox, 414 Short street, Jerseyville; Harvey Banfield, 1142 West Ninth: Walter Thompson, 1005 Pearl, and Logan, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Logan, 3422 Oak drive.

Entering the hospital for surgical treatment were Peter Betzer, 11 North Sixth street St. Louis; Mrs. lola LeClaire, wife of Tony LeClaire, 723 Henry; O. Wayne Mefford, Chesterfield; Miss Rose Marie Johnson, 1400 State; Truman Pruitt, 627 Broadway, East Alton; Larry Nowaski, son of Mr. and Mrs.

Vincent Nowaski, 134( East Second street, Roxana, and for observation and possible surgery, Miss Lillian Cousins, daughter of Mr. and Mrs, Clarence Cousins, 1216 Rodemeyer, and Gerald Edelen, 808 East Broadway. Mrs. Lillian Davis of 1607 Joesting, who was a patient for six weeks in St. Joseph's Hospital during which time she underwent an operation for amputation of her left leg, returned home Wednesday, and is now able to gel about the house with the aid of crutches.

Edgar Deerick of 1807 Belle street was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital Wednesday for treatment of a foot injury. Admitted to Alton Memorial Hospital Wednesday for surgical treatment were Mrs. Mavis Waits, 705 Reuter; Madelyn Franklin, 3, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.

Walter Franklin, 136 East Fourth street, Roxana; Evelyn McCormick, 12, of 813 East Sixth, and Mrs. Edna Theisen, wife of William Thoisen, Alton, Route 1. Patients returning home Tuesday from St.

nllended a family reunion held Sunday at Ihe First Methodist Church in East Alton. Mr. and Mrs. Green were Ihe parents of 15 children. Four of Ihp children, Ralph Green of Litchfield.

Mrs. Lizzie Dorsey and Mrs. Margarct Kabel of Moro and Mrs. Anna Mehl of St. Louis were present.

A fifth child, Mrs. Emily Ellis of Terre Haute, was unnble lo attend. A basket dinner was served in the church dinng room after which a program was presented. During the day a Mornian Bible and a family Bible brought by Mr. and Mrs.

Green from England were displayed and also a set of silver spoons which originally belonged to a common ancestor, Lady Et- terlnghum of England. The were marked with her initials and coat of arms. Musical numbers were presented by Miss Joy Lumiin, Eugene Hasten, Mrs. Virginia Luman Whil- Ipn, Dorchester Green, Miss Wyvona Luman, Miss Georgia Kabel, Herbers Luman and Theodore Hurley. Ralph Green spoke, giving a brief family history.

A tribute was paid to three members of the original family, the Rev. William Green, Mrs. Alice Cooper and Mrs. Adeline Luman who have died since the last reunion held in 1942. Reunions were omitted during the war years.

Officers were elected. Herbert Luman of Wood River was elected chairman, Miss Adele McDonald of East Alton, secretary Ephram Green of Alton and Eugene Dorsey of Wood River, assistant chairmen. The reunion will be held at the church in East Alton on the Sun- lay before Labor day next year. The family made a donation to the church's fund for the new organ appreciation of the use of the building. Worchester Green of Downers jrove and Theodore Harley of Chicago came the farthest dis- ance to attend the reunion.

Father Gets Prison Term for Beating Son GENEVA, 111., Sept. 4. For beating his four-months old son, Robert Eugene, Ulysses Grant Smith, 23, of Aurora, 111., yesterday was sentenced to one to three years in prison. Smith pleaded guilly lo a charge of assault with intent to murder. Circuit Judge Charles A.

O'Connor passed sentence. The Kane Counly grand jury indicted Smilh afler hearing lesti- mony lhat the infant suffered a skull fracture, a fractured leg and other injuries as a result of the June 2 beating. Smith's wife, Mrs. Margaret Smith, 19, has sued for divorce. Wilbur Pullen at Ihe home of Mrs.

Cushman, formerly with the Alton Boxboard Co. at its Alton plant has been promoted to the post of chief engineer of the American Viscose Corp. at Lewistown Pa. Wynkoop and Miss Bernice Darden Martin in the First Methodist Church Friday evening at 6:30 o'clock. Henry Gissal of 1200 Alby street remains a patient at St. Anthony's Infirmary, receiving treatments, for injuries suffered in a fall at the family home last Friday. Theodore Franklin Moody will be a student at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, this fall. School will open September 16. Mr. and Mrs. William Bradshaw of Rantoul arrived today to visit their daughter, Miss Ruth Kathryn Bradshaw, and on Friday night will attend the wedding of Miss Bradshaw and Paul N.

Pen-in. Miss Marilyn Hershey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl G. Hershey of 444 Bluff street will leave October 2 to begin her studies in the fine arts division of the University of Illinois.

A June 1947 graduate of Alton High School with a. gold alpha, Miss Hershey will pledge Delta Delta Delta sorority. Joe Naughton, son of Mr. and Mrs. C.

H. Naughton 2639 Sanford avenue, will study architectural engineering at James Millikin University at Decatur and will leave Sept. 7 to begin his freshman year. He graduated from Alton High School in Jurie after ierving in the army. 'Miss Louise Wright who was graduated from the preparatory department of Monticello College in June will leave about the' first of October to enter the fine arts division of the University of Illinois.

The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Wright of 1129 Warren street she will pledge.

Delta Gamma sorority. Miss Joan Stockdale, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. E.

Slockcfale of 1420 Henry street will leave for Champaign October 1 to enter the liberal arts division of the University of Illinois. She was graduated from Alton High School in June. 1947 and won a silver alpha. She will pledge Alpha Chi Omega sorority. Miss Pat Wenzel, a graduate of Alton High School In June, 1947, will leave about the first of October to begin her studies at the University of Illinois.

A daughter of Mrs. A. N. Sullivan of Godfrey, she also attended the preparatory school of Monllcello College. She will pledge Delia Gamma sororily.

Miss Mary Kalhryn Hlnlon, a senior in the liberal arts division of DePauw University will leave Sept. 13 for Greencaslle, to begin her sludles. She is a daughter of Capt. and Mrs. W.

M. Hin- lon of 3012 Burton street, and is a member of Alpha Chi Omega so- rorily. Miss Jackie Boehl, daughler of Mr. and Mrs. Henry V.

Miss Pat Williamson will enter her freshman year at the University of Illinois and will leave for Champaign about October 1. A January 1947 graduate of Alton High with a silver alpha, she is a daughter of Dr. and Mrs. M. R.

Williamson of 302 Prospect street. Leland Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. L. C.

Smith of Godfrey will leave for Champaign to begin his senior year the University of Illinois about October 1. He is in the fine arts division. Miss Delores Reilley will return to Terre Haule, lo resume her sludies as a sophomore at St. Mary's of the Woods Sept. 18.

She was graduated from MarqueUe High School in June, 1946, and is in the liberal arts division at St. Mary's. She is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Reilley of 9.00 College avenue.
