But on first down, John Marzo flipped a quick slant to end Mike Getman just over the middle, and Getman took the short pass 43 yards to the Villanova five. Angelo Colosimo took two cracks into the line and scored from four yards out on the second attempt. Vil-lanova's David Martin blocked the conversion kick when Bob Nixon's placement was low and into the middle of the line, It didn't matter, however, because 20-14 would be enough. After the kickoff, the Wildcats sent in their third-string quarterback, Bob Loscalzo, a strong-armed freshman, but they could not move.
