Obituaries Sister M.A. Wilson, 74, teacher, principal By Mark Fazlollah INQUIRER STAFF WRITER Sister Margaret A. Wilson, 74, who served as the Archdiocese of Philadelphia's regional director of schools in Delaware and Chester Counties, died Saturday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Convent in Morton. Sister Wilson joined the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia in 1940, when she was 19.

She completed her bachelor's degree at Villanova University and her master's in higher education at the Catholic University of America. Sister Wilson spent her entire adult life working in Catholic education. She taught at Philadelphia's St. Benedict School, Holy Ghost School in Bethlehem and Nativity Blessed Virgin Mary School in Media. In 1965 she was appointed principal of Our Lady of Perpetual Help School in Morton.

In 1971, she became principal of St. Stanislaus School in Lansdale, where she remained for several years. After St. Stanislaus, Sister Wilson worked for 18 years as an administrator in the archdiocese office of Catholic Education, where she served as regional director of schools in Delaware and Chester Counties, and director of special projects. Her brother, Charles, her only survivor, said his sister always wanted to be a nun.

He said that when she was a student at John W. Hallahan Catholic Girls High School, at 19th and Wood Streets, she would volunteer to help the poor. "Before she went in, she did a lot of work. She would go into neighborhoods where the people were really poor, they were destitute," Charles Wilson said. He said that she was instrumental in construction of the convent at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, and was a superior there.

Visitation will be at 9:30 a.m. tomorrow at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Morton, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Aston. Pine Grove Cem. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Death Notices Everybody knew the missing boy TODDLER from B1 who didn't watch the boy from time to time for a few minutes to over- night.

They got to know his likes and dislikes: McCrary knows that KeShaun likes sugar-frosted tangerine candy and banana flavored taffy. Kevin Roberts Market would quiet him with an orangeflavored freeze pop and lime Popsicles. This week, police are expected to file child-endangerment charges against Vanderhorst, who confessed that she sold Ke-Shaun for drug money after he was reported missing earlier this month. Vanderhorst is being held for a parole violation while investigators at the Medical Examiner's Office review files on the deaths of three of her other children. Vanderhorst first told police that a woman from the Department of Human Services took the boy.

Then she said a stranger offered to take the child because she knew Vanderhorst was having trouble caring for him. In her most recent story, Vanderhorst said the woman paid her $500 for Ke-Shaun. Vanderhorst described the woman as African American, 5- foot-4, of medium build, and wearing a cream-colored jacket, a maroon shirt and designer fingernails. The latest story has prompted skepticism and fear among neighbors and shopkeepers who used to care for the child. Roberts says he is worried that something bad has happened to him.

"There have just been too many different stories," he said. Vanderhorst would drop the boy off: at Young's Market for up to 30 minutes at a stretch, Roberts said. He would let the toddler whom he called "Little Man" and "Little Shorty" run up and down the aisles of the bodega at 17th and Jefferson Streets, he said. McCrary said that Vanderhorst would usually come to reclaim her son after 15 or 20 minutes. "I always tried to keep him occupied," the clerk said.

"But he hated to see her go." In early September, neighbors on Vanderhorst's block noticed that KeShaun had climbed onto the windowsill of his mother's first-floor apartment, where he sat wailing for more than a half hour. Cheri Cooper, who lives across the street, said she watched a neighborhood teenager pry open the window, take Ke-Shaun into his arms, and begin rocking the baby. Then Vanderhorst came walking up the street, snatched the baby, and disappeared inside the house, neighbors say. "She didn't even say thank you or apologize or nothing," Cooper said. A week later, Cooper said, Vanderhorst left Ke-Shaun with a mother of three who lives down the block.

It was supposed to be for 15 minutes, but the woman kept Ke-Shaun overnight. Cooper said she helped the neighbor persuade Vanderhorst's landlord to open up her apartment so they could get fresh diapers for the toddler. Neighbors said that Ke-Shaun always wore clean clothes and never appeared to be hungry. A gypsy -cab driver who asked to be identified only as June said he often hung out with Vanderhorst, as late as 2 a.m., drinking beer and partying in front of a Laundromat on Cecil B. Moore Avenue.

"I can't say nothing about how she treated him on the inside of her house," he said. "But outside, she was always kind to him." It has been about a month since anyone in the neighborhood has seen the shy little boy, who would follow his mother up the street on a tiny red tricycle. "He would smile at you as he went by," Cooper said. "But if you looked behind that smile, you could tell he was really sad." Man found dead in thrift shop STABBING from B1 ator, antique chairs, filing cabinets, and knickknacks of all types. "He would take one of those collectible plates and ask me, in that Jamaican accent of his: 'Picture that on your wall, girl.

Wouldn't that look said a neighbor who asked not to be identified. Ile was a conservative person. He kept to himself." Even when neighborhood men gathered outside the corner bar next to the thrift shop to loiter and talk sports, the victim would never come out and chat not once in the years since he opened his shop in 1985, Mackey said. Sometimes at night, he would buy items from ragpickers who had scavenged furniture or collectibles from the trash, said Stephanie Washington, 46, who stopped to watch the scene. Murray said that the victim lived above his shop, on the second and third floors of the red-brick rowhouse but that it did not appear that the apartment had been broken into.
