Maxwell, 52, died early Thursday morning at her home, 911 S. Locust. She had been seriously ill for two weeks. Services will be at 2 p. m.

She was married Dec. 20, 1933, to J. A. Maxwell in Lawrence. The couple moved to Franklin County in 1935, and had lived In Ottawa for two years.

Mrs. Maxwell was employed by Bruce Mfg. from 1949 until Aug. 1963. She is survived by her husband; one brother, Lavonne Bates, Ran.

Ramsdell, 75, died 1418 S. Santa Fe Chanute. Funeral services will be at 2:30 p. m. Sunday in Towner's Funeral Chapel.

Burial will be in Mt. Hope cemetery, Williams, burg. Ramsdell was born Sept. 17, 1888, in Paola, the son of Gid. eon and Lula Daniels Ramsdell.

He married Hazel Roberts Jan. 14, 1914, in Ottawa. The Rams. dells lived in Burlington and Wil. liamsburg and moved to Chanute in 1917.

Ramsdell was a retired Santa Fe Railroad employe. He was a member of Elks Lodge 806 in Chanute and a member of Elks Lodge 806 in Chanute and a mem. ber of the Brotherhood of Loco, motive Firemen and Enginemen. He is survived by his wife; one son, Willard Ramsdell, Wich. ita; one half-brother, Willie Ramsdell, Burlington, and two grandchildren and six great, grandchildren.

Braun Sentenced For DWI Charge John Braun, who gave his ad. dress as Ottawa RFD 1, was fined $150 and given a 30-day, suspended jail sentence Monday in Anderson County Court on charges of driving while intoxicated. The Anderson County sheriff's office said Braun was driving south on U.S.

169 south of Welda about 3:50 a.m. Sunday when he turned north off the highway onto the Santa Fe Railroad tracks, supposedly heading for Lane. A freight train plowed into the back of Braun's car. Braun jumped just before the train hit, the sheriff's office said. The car, a 1950 Dodge, was de.

Ewing King was the last of five men on trial with Hoffa, International Teamsters president, to testify. All are charged with trying to influence jurors in Hoffa's 1962 trial in Nash, vllle. King, former president of the Nashville Teamsters local, said he agreed to help Tennessee State Trooper James Paschal of Woodbury, get a pro. motion.

He said many union truck drivers knew the patrol, man and wanted to see him get ahead. Pashal's wife was dismissed from the Nashville jury follow, ing a meeting between King and Paschal on a lonely road near Woodbury. King said the meet, ing was arranged by a mutual friend. Paschal had testified earlier that King offered to use his in. Frank Clement and other state officials to obtain a promotion if Paschal "would talk to my wife." Paschal said he never discussed the matter with his wife.
