TITUSVILLE Electric plant supported: The City Council has passed a resolution supporting a proposed electric power cogenera-tion plant north of Titusville. Southern Electric International Co. is competing with other companies in the state to build a new electric plant for Florida Power Light.

MIKE MORTELL MICCO Michael Thomas "Mike" Mortell, 81, a retired printer, died Thursday, Nov. 7, at Humana Hospital Sebastian. Mr. Mortell was born in Bangor, Maine. He moved to Brevard three years ago from Coral Gables.

He had worked for the Los Angeles Times and Fort Lauderdale News. Mr. Mortell was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Sebastian and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10210 in Sebastian. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Rita Mortell of Micco; sons, Michael Mortell of Rohnert Park, Frank Mortell of Fayette-ville, John Mortell of Franklin, and Robert Mortell of Chico, eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

We'll Miss You Each And Every Day, Until We Meet Again Along The Way. OBITUARIES By Mike Bailey FLORIDA TODAY Kermit Hobson Hawkins, a nationally known sculptor whose work ranged from G.I. Joe to the rising Christ at Ascension Catholic Church, died of cancer Friday, Nov. 8, at home in Melbourne. He was 77.

Bom and raised in Crewshaw County, Hawkins was a Brevard County resident for 13 years. His interest in art took shape between battles during World War II, when he carved figures from hard South Pacific woods with his Marine knife, family members said. After two tours of duty, which included the landing on Iwo Jima, Mr. HawWns joined Marx Toys in 1946 as master model maker. He stayed with "the largest toy maker in the world" until 1975, when it was purchased by Quaker Oats.

Working with a staff of illustrators and designers, Hawkins made the first model of most of the toys the company produced, including G.I. Joe, the Big Wheel tricycle, Disney and Flintstones characters and a complete set of miniature firearms. Later in his career, Hawkins turned to fiberglass and created a member of the United Church of Christ, Congregational, in Melbourne. Survivors include her daughters, Phyllis Rooney of Melbourne and Frances Cerasoli of Melbourne Beach; three grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. No calling hours are scheduled.

Services are 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Davis Funeral Home in Melbourne. Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Royal Palm Memorial Gardens in West Palm Beach. The family requests no flowers.

She was a former member of the Brevard Republican Women's Club. Otto, 65, a homemaker, died Friday, Nov. 8, at Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne. Mrs. Otto was born in Jersey City, N.J. She moved to Brevard four years ago from New York City, where she was a member of St.

Anthony's Catholic Church. Survivors include her husband, Herbert Otto of Palm Bay; sons, Herbert J.
