Lavoie NEW BRITAIN Antoinette M. DeChesser Louis A. Kroopnick, 92, of Stafford Springs, died Saturday (Oct. 17, 1 998). He was the husband of the late Esther (Michelowitz) Kroopnick.

Born in Poland, he lived in Hartford and Windsor most of his life. He was a retired machinist with Hamilton Standard, and a former member of Congregation Beth Ahm. He leaves a son, Dr. Ralph Kroopnick of Longmead-ow, MA; a sister, Anna Kroopnick of Lexington, MA; two grandchildren, Robin Driscoll of California, and Kim-berly Kroopnick of Longmeadow, MA; and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Tuesday, Oct.

20, 2 p.m., at the Hebrew Merchants Protective Association Cemetery, Garden Street, Hartford. LAVOIE, Simone (Cloutier) Simone (Cloutier) Lavoie, 80, of Manchester, the widow of Emile J. Lavoie, died Sunday (Oct.

18, 1998) at home. She was the daughter of the late Robertine (LaCroix) and Charles Cloutier, and had lived in Maine before moving to Manchester about 50 years ago. She was a retired employee of Pratt and Whitney Aircraft, and a member of the Church of the Assumption, Manchester. She is survived by a sister. Georgette Gagne of Lewiston, ME; and eight nieces and nephews, Raymond Cloutier of Manchester, Constance Dube of Windsor Locks, Charles and Dennis Cloutier, Maurice Gagne, Rejeanne Nadeau, Diris Belief leur, Jacqueline Gree-nough; and many dear friends.

Peter's Cemetery in Lewiston, ME. LYNCH, Rosalie (Carter) Rosalie (Carter) Lynch, 85, of East Hartford, widow of Francis P. Lynch, died Friday (Oct. 16, 1998) at the Marlborough Health Care Center. Born In Canada, she had lived in East Hartford for the past 40 years.

Prior to her retirement, she was a secretary at Hartford Hospital. She is survived by five sons, Richard D. Lynch of South Glastonbury, Mark E. Lynch of Columbia, Neal P. Lynch of East Hartford, Kevin M.

Lynch of Winsted, Christopher J. Lynch of Granby; 13 grandchildren, and eight greatgrandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Brian R. Lynch. Funeral service will be Tuesday, 9 a.m., from the Mulryan Funeral Home, 2534 Main Glastonbury, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m., in St.

MURPHY, John Francis John Francis Murphy, 73, of Court Street Cromwell, husband ot Audrey (Fortune) Murphy, died Saturday (Oct.

17) at the Middlesex Hospital. Born in Meriden, he was the son of the late Fredrick and Caroline (Kelly) Murphy, and had lived in Cromwell for the past 14 years. Mr. Murphy was a member of St. John Church in Cromwell, a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S.

Army, 69th infantry division, a member of the VFW, Post 583, Middle-town, and was employed at for 37 years. Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Pamela A. Murphy, and Mrs. Brendan (Kather-ine) Getchel, both of Middletown; two sisters, Grace Murphy of Middle-town, and Mary McBrien of Portland; four grandchildren, Christopher and Kimberly Holt, Jessica Murphy and Michael Getchel; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Kevin J.

Murphy. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. John Church, Cromwell, Saturday, Oct. 24, 10 a.m. Interment will be in the State Veterans Cemetery, Middletown, with full military honors.

There are no calling hours. The Cromwell Funeral Home, 506 Main Cromwell is in charge of arrangements. NORTON, Clarence F. Clarence F. Norton, 83, of Fanway Avenue, Bristol, husband of1 Hazel (Chapman) Norton, died Saturday (Oct.

17, 1998) at home. Clarence was born in Bristol, April 9, 1915, and was a son of the late Levi and Meta (Wagner) Norton. He resided in Bristol all his life, and served his country with distinction during World War II. He was discharged in 1945 as a First Sergeant and received seven battle stars plus a D-Day Invasion Bronze Arrowhead. Following the war, he returned to Bristol and was employed at the former E.

Ingraham Co. for 15 years, retiring in 1960. Clarence served with the Connecticut Army National Guards from 1960 to 1975 as a radar technician at both the AvonSimsbury Nike missile sites, retiring as a Master Sergeant. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church. In addition to his wife, Clarence is survived by a son, David Norton of Seekonk, MA; a daughter, Barbara Gouthro of Springfield, MA; two sisters, Viola Robinson of Bristol, and Ella Robertson of Chester; four grandchildren, Scott, Kate, Amanda, and Kris; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, Oct. 20, 1 1 a.m., at Trinity Episcopal Church, with the Rev. Bruce Moncriff officiating. Burial, with full military honors, will follow in West Cemetery. There are no calling hours.

Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Bristol, is in charge of arrangements. Pius J. Nasvytis, 79, of Avon, passed away Saturday (Oct. 17, 1998) at the Plainville Health Care Center.

He was born in Jonava, Lithuania on July 11, 1919, the son of the late Steponas and Juzefa Nasvytis. He was an aeronautical engineer and worked with Chandler-Evans of Colt Industries for many years. He was an inventor, a sportsman and was extremely active in the International Lithuanian Community. He is survived by his companion, Aldona Mackevicius of Queens, NY; a son, Vytautas P. Nasvytis of Buffalo, NY; a daughter, Aldona Sat-terthwaite of Toronto, Canada; a sister, Birute Smetona of Cleveland, OH; two grandchildren, Amy and Mark Satterthwaite; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by a brother and a sister. Calling hours will be Tuesday, 4-8 p.m., with a funeral service, 8 p.m., at the Bailey Funeral Home, 48 Broad Plainville. O'Donnell, 68, of Ft. Pierce, FL, formerly of Hartford and Miami, FL, died (Oct. 14, 1998) at his residence. He was born in Reynolds-ville, PA and was an electrical foreman in the Engineering Dept. for the Veteran's Hospital in Miami, FL for 30 years.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines serving during the Korean Conflict, a member of St Mark's Catholic Church and member of the Moose Club and the Emerald Society in Miami. He is survived by his wife, Nina O'Donnell of Ft. Pierce, FL; a daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Dennis Martin of Bristol; a sister. Flora Cochrane of East Hampton; and a granddaughter and grandson, Trisha and Brian Martin, both of Bristol.

A prayer service will be conducted Today, 11 a.m., in the funeral home chapel of Haisley-Hobbs Funeral Home, Fort Pierce, FL. REDUCKER, Alexander "Duke" Wesley Jr. Alexander "Duke" Wesley Reduker, 67, died suddenly Wednesday (Oct. 14, 1998). Born in New Britain, Feb.

26, 1931, son of the late Alexander W. and Sophie (Martin-chek) Reduker, he spent his early life in Rocky Hill. He lived for 29 years in Blandford, MA before moving to South Glastonbury in August 1998, following his marriage to Peggy (Raf-ferty) Reduker. Duke was a graduate of Wethersfield High School and Springfield College, and served in the U.S. Army from 1953-1955.

He was a member and past Master and Treasurer of the Huntington-Federal Lodge of Russell, MA; a member of the Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of Springfield; and a member of the Melha Temple Legion of Honor. His professional career spanned over 30 years in the insurance industry. He retired as Senior Marketing Representative in 1993 from the General Accident Insurance Company. Duke was an active member of the First Congregational Church in Westfield, MA, and more recently, the Congregational Church in South Glastonbury. He was an avid golfer and fisherman.

His family and friends will hold him in their hearts forever, remembering his smiling face, his kind and gentle manner, his enthusiasm for life, and his devotion to his cherished family. He was predeceased by his first wife, Elizabeth Forristall Reduker; and a son, David Wesley Reduker. In addition to his wife, Duke leaves a son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Jeneene Reduker of North Brunswick, NJ; and a daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Charles Car-. roll of Acushnet, MA. He also leaves four special grandchildren, Chris and Mike Reduker, and Danny and Brynne Carroll.

He is survived by his brother, Raymond Reduker of East Hartford; several aunts and cousins, many nieces and nephews, and his beloved Sheltie, Abby. A memorial celebration of his life will be Saturday, Oct. 24, 1 p.m., at the Congregational Church in South Glastonbury. SILVER. Belle (Lipman) Belle (Lipman) Silver, 86, of Bristol, died Saturday (Oct. 17, 1998). She was the beloved wife, for 58 years, of the late William C. Silver.

Born in New Britain, as a child her family moved to Meriden where she attended local schools. She was the daughter of the late Aaron and Fannie Lipman of New Britain. Mrs. Silver was a past Treasurer of Elco Beverage Company, Pepsi Cola, in Bristol. She was active in synagogue and Hadassah affairs.

having served as a Chapter President and President of the Sisterhood of the Beth Israel Synagogue. Mrs. Silver also served with the American Cancer Society, Girl Scouts, and the PTA of the Jennings School. She was a wonderful cook and gardener. She is survived by her daughter, Harriet Levin and her husband, Jerome and three sons, Aaron Silver, Paul Silver and his wife, Sandy, and Stephen Silver and his wife, Louise.

She was "Grammy Belle" to her beloved grandchildren. Faith Irwin and her husband, Craig, Marc and Judith Levin, Jill, Stacey and Jami Silver, Scott and Marci Silver, and Sarah and Jordan Silver; and great-grandchildren, Marissa and William Irwin. She also leaves a sister-in-law, Jewel Lipman. She was predeceased by her brother. Jack Lipman.

Funeral services will be graveside, Monday, Oct. 19, 10:30 a.m., at the Beth Israel Cemetery on Lake Avenue in Bristol. Following the services, friends will be received during the family period of mourning, through Wednesday evening, at the home of Paul and Sandy, 32 Elaine Drive, Bristol. in New Britain. Joseph Penn Gibson 102, of South Kingstown, Rl, an in-1 surance executive, died (Oct. 17, 1998) in North Kingstown, Rl. He was the husband of the late Edith (Frohmader) Gibson. Born in Wyocena, Wl, a son of the late Joseph P.

and Lillian (Brewster) Gibson, he had lived in Windsor before moving to Rhode Island three years ago. Mr. Gibson was a World War I U.S. Navy veteran, serving as an Ensign with the Bureau of Navigation. He was a member of the Hope Masonic Lodge.

He leaves a son, John C. Gibson of Wakefield, Rl; four grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. He was the father of the late Jean G. Cormick. Services are private.

Cremation will be in the Cremation Society of Rhode Island. JEAN, Antoinette "Toni" Antoinette "Toni" Jean, passed away (Oct. 17, 1998) after living a very happy and productive life. She died peacefully of natural causes in the presence of her family. She was born in Lowell, MA, and had been married at St.

Mary's Church to Wilfred Jean, who died in 1955. She lived most of her life on Quercus Avenue in Willimantic. She had been employed at the American Thread Mills, the former Pratt and Whitney Plant, and the Electro Motive Plant all in Willimantic. She was a devout communicant of St. Mary's Church in Willimantic, a member of the Ladies of St.

Ann Society, the Jackson Street Senior Citizens Club, as well as the McSweeney Center. She was very dedicated to her immediate and extended family members, and enjoyed the love and esteem of very many friends for whom there was never a party without her presence. She loved cooking and was famous for her apple pies. She leaves three children, the Rev. Raymond Jean of Nian-tic, Anita N.

Jean of Willimantic, and Paul Jean who lives with his wife, Anne in Fort Washington, MD. She was predeceased by another son, Andre, who had lived with his wife, Anne Marie in Clinton. She leaves four grandchildren, Sean, Daniel, Andre and Michelle Jean; two greatgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves a sister, Ida Martin and a brother, Pete Mar-chand, both of Willimantic. Funeral services will be Wednesday, Oct.

21, 10:45 a.m., from the Bacon Funeral Home, 71 Prospect Willimantic, followed by a Concelebrated Funeral Mass, 11:30 a.m., in St. Mary Church, Willimantic. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Windham. Calling hours will be Tuesday, 6-8 p.m., at the funeral home.

JONES, Kenneth "Sonny" R. Kenneth "Sonny" R. Jones, 58, of Newington, died Saturday (Oct.

17, 1998), after a short term, heroic battle with can cer. He leaves his beloved wife of 35 years, Rita (Lavertue) Jones, whom he married on Sept. 7, 1963. Sonny was the owner of Automotive Connection in New Britain and retired just recently due to his illness. He was born in Claremont, NH, Nov.

9, 1939, the son of Helen (Flanders) Rogers of St. Petersburg, FL, and Roland Jones of Claremont, NH. He was a Newington resident for 33 years, and was a member of Church of the Holy Spirit. He was a U.S. Army veteran.

Sonny was a member of the Holland Aqua Riders of Holland, MA for 30 years and trained many water ski champions at Holland Lake. His favorite pastimes included boating, water skiing and his jet ski. For over 30 years, he dedicated his Saturdays to training youngsters from the age of three in the art of water skiing, including his own son, Kenny, who went on to win many national awards. A devoted father and grandfather, he also leaves his daughter, Carolyn A. Hettrick of Port Charlotte, FL; his son and daughter-in-law, Kenny and Kristen Jones of Southington; two grandsons, P.J.

Gooden and Bryan Hettrick; his granddaughter, Mikayla Jones; a sister, Gladys Quinn and her husband, Michael of Claremont, NH; several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, and many dear and close friends. He was predeceased by a sister, Arlene Tatro. Funeral services will be Wednesday, 9 a.m., from the Newington Memorial Funeral Home, 20 Bonair Newington, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m., at Church of the Holy Spirit. Interment will be in West Meadow Cemetery, Newington.

KOSTIN, Dickman Ann (Kupchunos) Ann (Kupchunos) Dickman Kostin, 88, widow of Max Kostin, of Enfield, formerly of East Hartford, died Sunday (Oct. 18, 1998) at Johnson Memorial Hospital, Stafford Springs. Born in South Windsor, she had lived most of her life in East Hartford before moving to Enfield several years ago.

Mrs. Kostin is survived by four sons and two daughters-in-law, Albert and Gloria Dickman of Enfield, Donald D. Dickman and Peter P. Dickman, both of East Hartford, and William B. and Priscilla Dickman of Coventry; a daughter and son-in-law, Lois and Richard Hassett of South Windsor; two sisters, Mary Kupchunos and Amelia Dzat, both in California; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

(Maddox) Brown, 61, mother of Rhoda Brown, of Bloom-field, departed this life on Saturday (Oct. 17, 1998), at Hartford Hospital after a long illness. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. Jr. John H. Card, 50, of Columbia, died Monday (Oct. 12, 1998) as a result of a construction accident in New Hampshire. He was born in Williman-tic, but resided in Columbia.

He was the son of Kate (Buck) Card and the late John H. Card also of Columbia. He was a graduate of Horace W. Porter School and Windham High School. He attended Clemson University and graduated from Boston University with a B.S.

in Public Relations. He worked as a pipe line welderpipe fitter, building the Alaskan Pipeline and on other pipelines throughout the United States. He was a member of the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipefitting Industry of the United States and Canada, Local No. 798, Tulsa, OK, for many years. He is survived by his mother, Kate B.

Card; his sister, Sara Card Wolmer; his nieces, Suzanne G. Wolmer and Jennifer Wolmer Franklin; and his grand-niece, Sara Ann Minor. He is also survived by a great aunt and uncle, Jane and Everett Card; a great aunt, Helen Card; aunt Barbara (Buck) Warren, aunt Priscilla (Buck) Whitehouse, aunt Sally (Buck) Alapi and aunt Anne (Little) Card; and numerous cousins and friends. FORESTANDI, Nicholas Nicholas Forestandi, 93, of New Britain, entered into eternal rest Saturday (Oct. 17, 1998). He was the widower of Angeline (Cesarini) Forestandi, who died Sept.

10, 1994. He was the son of the late Alphonse and Caroline (Silvestri) Forestandi. He was born in Wappingers Falls, NY, and had been a resident of New Britain for the past 75 years. He was employed as a machine operator for Stanley Works for 34 years, retiring in 1970. After his retirement, he then worked as a custodian for the Plain-ville Public Library for five years.

He was a member of St. Ann Church, the Marconi Club, and was an avid gardener. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Caren Forestandi of West Virginia; a daughter and son-in-law, Jeanine and Joseph Martino of Plainville; three grandsons, David and his wife, Lisa Martino of Simsbury, Paul Martino of New York, and John and his wife, Christine Martino of Berlin; three great-grandchildren, Christopher Martino, Nicholas Martino, and Olivia Martino; several nieces and a nephew. Funeral services will be Tuesday, 10:45 a.m., from St. Ann Church.

HUBENY, Stanley Stanley Hubeny, 70, beloved husband of Gerda (Reister) Hubeny of Windsor, died Saturday (Oct. 17, 1998) at home. Born in Poland, he had lived in Windsor for the last 33 years, and was a communicant of St.

Gabriel Church. Before retiring in 1989, he was a pastry chef for CIGNA for 30 years. Besides his wife, Gerda, he leaves two daughters and a son-in-law, Judy and William Voorhies and Agnes Hubeny, all of Windsor; and a brother and sister-in-law, John and Emma Hubeny of Windsor Locks. Family and friends may gather, Tuesday, 9 a.m., at the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Windsor, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m., in St. Gabriel Church.

Atmore, 38, of Nelton Court, Hartford, departed this life Friday (Oct. 16, 1998) at Hartford Hospital. She was born Dec. 3, 1959 in Babson Park, FL, and was a resident of Hartford for many years. She is survived by her father, Pokey Atmore; her mother, Dorothy Heath, both of Babson Park, FU two sons, Jacoby Atmore and Jamaal Hall, both of Hartford; two brothers and their wives, Ronnie and Karen, Anthony and Johnnie Mae Atmore, all of Babson Park, FL; four sisters, Sylvia Brin-son, Patricia Simpson and her husband, Morris, Dorothy Atmore, all of Hartford, and Pamela Atmore of Lakewales, FL; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

16, 1998) at Middlesex Hospital in Middletown after a long illness. He was the husband of the late Elizabeth (Hotkowski) Calamari. He was born in Chester on April 1, 1913, son of the late John J. and Mary (Moore) Calamari. He was the well-respected owner of "Calamari's Tavern" in Deep River.

He is survived by a son, Russell J. Calamari of Deep River; a daughter, Linnea Wincze of Barrington, Rl; five grandchildren, Jeffrey Wincze, Brent Wincze, Larissa Trinder, Nicholas and Annie Calamari; and a great-grandchild, Henry Trinder. He was predeceased by a brother, John Calamari. Funeral services will be Wednesday, 1 p.m., in the Swan Funeral Home, 211 Main Deep River. Burial will follow at Fountain Hill Cemetery.

She was employed with Marriott Host Services in the food service department. DeCHESSER, Antoinette (Maulucci) Antoinette (Maulucci) DeChesser, 83, of New Britain, entered into eternal rest Saturday (Oct. 17, 1998).

She was the widow of Reboldo DeChesser, who died March 5, 1993. She was the daughter of the late Pas-quale and Christine (Naples) Maulucci. She was born in New Britain and had been a lifelong resident. She was a member of St. Ann Church, and for many years made the rosaries for the Sacred Heart Society.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Arlene DeChesser of Far-mington; a brother, Pasquale Maulucci Jr. of New Britain; five sisters, Mary Radwanski, Teresa Just, Angie Sampieri, Rose Folio, and Viola Che-sery, all of New Britain; two grandchildren, Denise Hilger of Massachusetts, and Desiree Cika of Old Lyme; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. "Edith" Renza Ida M. "Edith" Renza Adamo, 88, of Glendale Avenue, Winsted, died Saturday (Oct. 17, 1998) at Valerie Manor Health Care Center in Torring-ton. She was the wife of the late Michael A. Adamo, who died in 1991.

Born in Winsted, April 14, 1910, a daughter of the late Louis and Jenny Arcari Renza, she had lived there all of her life. She attended local schools and was a communicant of St. Joseph Church. Her survivors include a son, Michael A. Adamo, Jr.

and his wife, Mary Ellen of New Hartford; a brother, Louis N. Renza of West Lebanon, NH; two granddaughters, Mary-Patricia Adamo of Wakefield, MA, and Michele Ellen Adamo of Alston, MA; a cousin, Antoinette Hayes of Winsted; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, John Renza; and a sister, Adelaide Renza. Funeral services will be Tuesday, 1 1 a.m., from the Maloney Funeral Home, 55 Walnut to St. Joseph Church for the funeral liturgy at 11:30 a.m.

ANDERSEN, theodora "Teddy" (Miner) Theodora "Teddy" (Miner) Andersen, 58, of New Hartford, died Friday (Oct 16, 1998) at Hartford Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Hans J. Andersen for 35 years. Born in Hartford on Sept. 20, 1940, she was the daughter of Theodora Gedrige Miner and the late Percy Miner.

Mrs. Andersen was a resident of New Hartford for 32 years and was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church of New Hartford. "Teddy" was a retired Pension Service Representative with the Travelers Insurance Co. of Hartford for 17 years. She will always be remembered for extreme kindness, smile, frienship, love of flowers, gardening, bird watching, painting, word jumbles and her baking.

A loving and devoted mother, she leaves a son, Mark T. Andersen and his wife, Alison of Winsted; a daughter, Lisa M. Andersen of Pleas-antValley. She is also survived by her mother, Theodora G. Miner of New Britain; and two brothers, Albert Miner of Queenstown, MD and Gary Mirier of Westborough, MA.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, Oct. 20, 9:30 a.m., from the John J. Shea Funeral Home, 5 Steele Road, New Hartford, to the Immaculate Conception Church, New Hartford, for a Mass at 10 a.m. Interment will take place in The Village Cemetery, New Hartford. BRIGNANO, Adelina (Accomasso) Adelina (Accomasso) Brignano, 84, of Hartford, wife of the late Joseph F. Brignano, died Saturday (Oct. 17, 1998) after a brief illness.

Born in West Hartford, she was a longtime resident. Mrs. Brignano was retired from the Walton Co. of West Hartford, after many years of service. She was a member of the Church of Brigid, and a member of the church's Ladies Guild.

Mrs. Brignano was an avid New York Yankee fan, and a member of the Elmwood Senior Citizens. She was the loving and devoted mother of two sons and a daughter, Dr. Russell Brignano and his wife, Mary of Pittsburg, PA, Robert; Brignano and his wife, Sally of Danville, CA, and Carolyn Constantine and her husband, William of Newington; a caring grandmother to: Robert Constantine and his wife, Lisa of East Berlin, Susan Constantine and John Breglio of Wethersfield, Pamela Williams and her husband, Robert of West Hartford, Robert and Scott Brignano of California; three greatgrandchildren, Olivia Constantine, Robert and Bryce Williams. She will be.truly missed by her family and friends.

Funeral procession will be Tuesday, 9:15 a.m., from the Shee-hah-Hilborn-Breen Funeral Hone, 1084 New Britain West Hartford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m., in the Church of St. Brigid, West Hartford.
