Darling Street Josephine Tarantino VERNON Anthony M. Lumbruno DEATH NOTICES DEATH NOTICES ANDERSON, Eleanor M. (O'Brien) BARROWS, Edward Dominic P. Guglietta, 81, of Newington, died Wednesday (Nov. 18, 1998).

He was the beloved husband of Maria (Maulucci) Guglietta for 58 years. Born in Hartford, son of the late Francisco and Emelia (Sporanza) Guglietta. Mr. Guglietta lived in Farmington for many years before moving to Newington 15 years ago. He retired from Sealtest Dairy, Hartford and was a member of Church of the Holy Spirit, Newington.

Mr. Guglietta was past president of Colonial Manor Condominium Assoc. He was a sport-man and avid golfer, starting as a caddy as a young boy at Farmington Country Club, and was a member of the Tunxis Plantation Country Club and Centry Hills Golf Course. Mr. Guglietta was past treasurer of his bowling league at Bowl-O-Rama.

Besides his wife, he leaves a son, D. Thomas Guglietta and his wife, Sandra, of West Hartford; four grandsons, Steven Guglietta and his wife, Nicole, of Plainville, Matthew Guglietta of Farmington, Devin and Ryan Guglietta, both of West Hartford; a brother, Patrick Guglietta of Hartford; three sisters, Minnie Migliore of Glastonbury, Helen Nawrocki and her husband, William of Burlington, Cynthia Presmarita and her husband. Rocky of Wethersfield; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Saturday, 9:15 a.m. from the Newington Memorial Funeral Home, 20 Bon-air Newington, followed by a Mass of Christian burial, 10 a.m.

at Church of the Holy Spirit. Interment will be in West Meadow Cemetery, Newington. Relatives and friends are invited to call this evening from 7-9 p.m. at Newington Memorial. Memorial donations may be made to United Way Of The Capital Area, 30 Laurel Street, Hartford, CT 06106.

GUIDA, Lois (Smith) Lois (Smith) Guida, 71, wife of Frank G. Guida of Coleman Road, Middletown, died Wednesday at the Middlesex Hospital after a long battle with cancer. She was born in Clark Summit, PA, daughter of Anna (Kwader) Smith of New Britain and the late Julius L. Smith. Prior to her retirement, she worked as a registered nurse in various capacities and for the last 23 years of her employment as a school nurse for the City of Middletown.

Besides her husband and mother, she is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, James and Missy Guida of Kensington, and Peter and Elaine Guida of Wethersfield; a brother, Eugene Smith of Portland; and three grandchildren, Amanda, Ethan and Matthew Guida. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated Saturday (Nov. 21), 9 a.m. at St. Mary Church, Middletown.

Private burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Middletown at the convenience of the family. There are no public calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Rev. Frederick J. Pilatowski Scholarship Fund, 79 S.

74. of Delrav Beach, FL. and formerly of West Hartford and Avon, died Wednesday (Nov. 18. 1998) at Hartford Hospital.

Born in Hartford, on May 20, 1924, he was the son of the late Edward and Rose (Guthart) Kone. He graduated from Weaver High School in Hartford and studied business at the University of Connecticut. He served proudly and heroically in the Pacific Theater during World War II and attained the rank of Staff-Sergeant. Mr. Kone was a manufacturer's representative for over thirty years and most recently was President of Consolidated Marketing Corporation in Avon.

He was a former member of Beth El Temple of West Hartford, the former Cliffside Country Club of Simsbury and Glen-eagles Country Club of Delray Beach, FL. He is survived by his wife, Judith (Blumenthal) Kone; four children, Edward Kone and his wife Judith of Parkland, FL, Susan Kone of New York, Gregg Kone of Granby and Tarryn Kone of New York, and a grandson, Zack Nicholas Kone. Funeral services will be today at 1 1 :30 a.m. in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave, Hartford, with interment in Piaterer Ver-ein Society Cemetery, Wethersfield. A memorial period will be observed at 12 Wyngate Dr, Avon.

Lumbruno, 56, of Vernon, loving husband of 33 years of June (Lusa) Lumbruno, died unexpectedly Wednesday (Nov. 18, 1998) at John Dempsey Hospital, Farming-ton. He was born in Hartford, son of Rose (Mistretta) Lumbruno of Manchester and the late Anthony Lumbruno. Tony and June had celebrated their 33 wedding anniversary on November 13. He was employed by Trumpf America Inc.

of Farmington, and was an avid golfer. Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, John and Wendy Lumbruno of West Hartford; his daughters and sons-in-law, Elaine and Marc Condon, Tracy Lumbruno and her fiance Jeff Grous, Dawn Lumbruno all of Vernon; his brother and sister-in-law, Peter and Michelle Lumbruno of Tolland; his sister and brother-in-law, Angela and Ken Wandzy of Ellington; his grandchildren, Justin, Tyler, Alys'sa, Anna, and Austin. We love you Papa. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Joan Hastings of Manchester; his brothers-in-law, Bruce Lusa of Florida, John Lusa and his wife, Patricia of and several nieces nephews. 18, 1998) at the Caleb-Hitchcock Health Center, Bloomfield. She was the wife of the late Harold K. Watrous and the late Theodore C. Kyle. Born in New Britain she attended and graduated from local town schools.

She lived in West Hartford and Farmington for many years, prior to moving to Duncaster Retirement Community in Bloomfield 14 years ago. After graduating in 1924 from Connecticut College for Women, New London, she began a career in social work in the field of Children's Services in both the public and private sectors as she worked in North Carolina, Virginia, Connecticut, and Massachusetts. When she retired to be married, she was the Executive of the Hampden County Children's Aide Association, now known as the Family and Child Services in Springfield, MA. She was a member of the Universalist Church of West Hartford and a member of the College Club of Hartford. Mrs.

Kyle is survived by several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be celebrated on Sunday, December 13, at 1 p.m. at Duncaster Retirement Community, 40 Loeffler Road, Bloomfield. Private graveside service will be in Fairview Cemetery, New Britain at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.

Lathrop, 91, of Manchester, husband of the late Mary (Gun-sarcik) Lathrop, died Wednesday (Nov.

18, 1998) at Rockville General Hospital. He was born in Manchester, May 23, 1907, son of the late Everett and Grace Lathrop, and had been a lifelong resident of Manchester. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War I and before retirement was a maintenance supervisor for Travelers Insurance Company, having been with the Company for 46 years. He was also a patrolman with the Manchester Police Department in the 1950's.

Mr. Lathrop was a founding member of the East Hartford Moose Lodge and is believed to be the oldest Pilgrim in the Moose Lodges in the State of CT. He was an avid boater and fisherman and was a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary. He is survived by a son, George E. Lathrop of East Hampton; a daughter, Linda M.

Risley and her husband Jack Risley of Tolland; four grandchildren, Steven Lathrop and his wife, Michelle of Manchester, Amy Lynn Risley, Dena Risley and Dan Saunders all of Tolland; and one great-grandchild, Justin Euzenas of Tolland He was predeceased by a brother, Charles Lathrop. Funeral services will be Monday, Nov. 23, with a Mass of Christian Burial, 1 1 a.m. at St. Bridget Churh, 70 Main Manchester, followed by a burial in the East Cemetery.

She was born in Worcester, MA, daughter of Martin and Ivy (Gris-brook) Larsen, attended local schools and graduated form Atlantic Union College. She and her late husband, Michael J. Magnello, owned and operated the Harvest Hill Package store chain, which she operated solely after his death in 1969 until her retirement in 1990. She was a talented woman, who in addition to her business responsibilities, found time to pursue her interests in music, fashion modeling, theater acting, gardening and cooking. She is survived by a daughter, Deidre Magnello of Bloomfield; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael J.

And Marie Magnello of Bloomfield; a daughter, Cherie L. Magnello of Bernard, ME, and two grandchildren, Joseph S. Magnello and Nicholas G. Magnello both of Bloomfield. Funeral arrangements are private and there are no calling hours.

MANZONE, Anita Marie (Bouchard) Anita Marie (Bouchard) Manzone, 87, of Hartford, wife of the late Louis Manzone, died Wednesday (Nov. 18, 1998) at Hartford Hospital. Born in Frenchville, ME, she lived in Hartford for most of her life. Prior to her retirement she worked for many years for Fran Hurwit Realty and Hurwit Simon Real Estate. She was a member of Barry Square Senior Citizens, the South End Senior Citizens and Les Dames de Ste.

Anne. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law; Michael and Cecile Manzone of Wethersfield, Louis and Sheila Man-zone of Dover, a daughter; Mary Adamick of Newington; a brother and sister-in-law; Denis and Frances Bouchard of Winsted; six grandchildren, Steven Adamick of Chandler, AZ, Lynn and Jamie Acosta of East Hartford, Christine and Ron Peterson of West Hartford, Jennifer Manzone of Brighton, MA, Mariel and Mireille Manzone both of Dover, two great grandchildren, Jamie and Brandy Lynn Acosta and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, James and Doris Manzone of South Windsor. Moody, 72, of Poquonock Ave, Poquonock section of Windsor, died Wednesday (Nov. 18, 1998) at his home.

Born in Hartford, son of the late William and Helen (Gay) Moody, he lived in Windsor most of his life. served in the U.S Marine Corp during both World War II and the Korean Conflict and was employed in the nuclear department of Combustion Engineering now ABB for 30 years retiring in 1985. He was employed by The Double Tree Inn, Windsor Locks since his retirement. Jim also served as a Supernumerary police officer for the Town of Windsor and was well known for many years of traffic duty on Sunday mornings for the Poquonock churches. He was past president of the Windsor Police Mutual and a member of the ABB Retirees Club, the AARP, and Windsor Golden Fellowship.

He leaves his beloved wife, Irene (Simmons) Moody; two sons, Charles J. and his wife Judith Ellen of Havre, MT and James R. and his wife Nancy of East Granby; his daughter, Mary Ann of Poquonock and East Hampton; a brother, William H. and his wife Mary of Windsor; and two grandchildren, Lawrence Kent Moody and Nicole Elizabeth Moody. Born in Hartford, she had lived in the West Hartford area all her life. She was a graduate of Conard High School class of 1993. Elisha was employed by Cal-dors as a telephone operator. She was a Hartford Courant carrier in the Elmwood area for 7 years. Besides her parents, she leaves her daughter, Amanda Moore at home and a brother Ernest H.

Porter, passed away at her home on Wednesday, (Nov. 18, 1998). Born and raised in Fitchburg, she lived most of her life in Connecticut. Rita lived these past 19 years in Farmington, and was a long time member of St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church.

A graduate of St. Vincent's School of Nursing, Rita was a Registered Nurse at the former Lucy Helen Hospital in Fitchburg, MA. She also was a graduate of St. Bernard's High School of Fitchburg, MA. Rita is survived by her husband, Joseph, a retired Connecticut Superintendent of Schools and college Professor.

Rita also leaves behind a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Claire Porter of Edison, three daughters and a son-in-law, Rosemary and Dennis Smithyman of Long Valley, NJ, Terri Porter of Bloo-mington, IN, and Elizabeth Jean Porter of New Britain; as well as her four grandchildren, Scott and Christopher Simanton of Bloomington, IN, and Kathryn and Megan Smithyman of Long Valley, NJ. Rita will also be missed by her sisters, Barbara Leavitt and Mary O'Brien of Fitchburg, two brothers and sisters in law, David and Ann Leavitt of West Chester, PA, and Philip and Sally Leavitt of Oak-ridge, NJ, as well as by many nieces and nephews. Stefanowicz, died Thursday (Nov. 19, 1998) at the Middlesex Hospital. Born in Meriden, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Cecelia (Kopeczyk) Toman.

Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a bookkeeper at Joe's Service Station owned and operated by her husband. She was a former secretary of the Middlefield Senior Citizens, a former aerobics instructor for the Middle-field Senior Citizens and a member of the Kosciuszko Society of Rockfall. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Janet Stefanowicz of Bristol; a grandson, Brian Stefanowicz; two brothers, Edward Toman of Meriden and Walter Toman of Southington; a sister, Barbara T. Miselis of West Hartford; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Monday, 8:15 a.m.

She was 1 the widow of R. William Olson. It-' i.Wail' Rnrn on June 14, 1924 (Flag Day), she was the daughter of the late August and Hulda (Johnson) Berggren and had lived her whole life in Portland. She was a graduate of Portland High School where she was the head drum majorette for the Portland High School band and lead the hand in the parade across the opening of the new Arri-goni bridge in 1938. She worked for Stanard Knapp Inc.

and Pratt and Whitney during World War II and in the years shortly after. Upon her marriage in 1947, she became the bookkeeper for G.A. Olson Sons floor covering. She raised five children and also worked for the Portland Board of Education until her retirement. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church and their Grace Guild in Portland.

Member of the 9-Holer and the 1 0 Holer Golf leagues at Portland Golf Club. She leaves her dear friend and companion, William Wells and her best friend, Vicky Lynch; She also leaves her beloved children, Karen Olson and Brendan Flannery of East Hampton, Janice Olson and Bruce Backman, Cheryl and Donny Pasquarelli, and Russell and Jane Olson, all of Portland. She was predeceased earlier this year by her youngest daughter, Debra Olson. She also leaves eleven grandchildren, Kerry Pasquarelli and Chris Darby, Jessica Pasquarelli, Travis and Brittany Back-man, Caitlin and Kellen Flannery, Rachel and Billy Olson, Kelsey and Erik Browg; she leaves her brothers and their wifes, Frederick and Constance Berggren of Portland, Harold and Kathleen Berggren of Hilton Head, and Harry and Winnie Berggren of Southington. She was predeceased by her sisters, Eleanore Denette and Gladys Smithwick.

Funeral services will be on Saturday, 1 p.m. in the Zion Lutheran Church with Pastor Ellen Muller presiding. Burial will follow in the family plot at Swedish cemetery, Portland. Ryan, 70, of Buckley Hill Rd, Colchester, died Tuesday (Nov 1 7, 1 998) at the Unversity of Connecticut Medical Center in Farmington. He died from complications of congestive heart failure. He was born on March 12, 1928 in West Haven, the son of the late Ray J. and Alice (Hart) Ryan, Sr. He spent his early years in Marlborough moving to Colchester in 1936, where he remained a resident.

He graduated of Bacon Academy, class of 1946, and then served in the U.S. Army attaining rank of Tech 5 during 1946-1947. He received the American Theatre Ribbon and the World War II Victory Ribbon, a member of the Colchester American Legion Post 54. In 1953 he founded Ryan Construction Company, a local general contractor, which he operated until his death. Mr.

Ryan was an active member of the community and served as chairman of the Colchester Planning and Zoning commision. A member of the Republican town committee, and as a charter member of the Colchester Rotary Club where he was named its' first Paul Harris Fellow in 1987. In 1994, the Rotary Club estabished an annual award in his honor called the Burton C. Ryan Vocational Award. He was a Justice of the Peace for many years.

On Aug. 8, 1955, he was married to Elizabeth Schutte in Maryland. Besides loving his wife of 43 yrs, he is survived by a son, Robert Ryan of Colchester; three daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen Ryan and Elliot Huron of Trumbull, Carol and Woodrow Barkett II of Maineville, OH, Jeannine and Jeff Sa-valle of Salem; a brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Mirian Ryan, of Colchester; a sister-in-law, Helen Tiezzi of Chester and a sister-in-law. Marguerite Radicchi of Colchester; five grandchildren, Douglas and Mal-lory Huron of Trumbull, Tara and Woodrow Barkett III of Maineville, OH, Jeffery Savalle of Salem; numerous nieces and nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a brother, Alan Ryan passed away on March 2, 1985.

The calling hours will be on Friday, 6-9 p.m., at Belmont Funeral Home Memorial, 144 South Main St, Colchester. Funeral services will be on Saturday, 10:30 a.m. from the Colchester Federated Church, 60 Main Colchester with Rev. Erica Wimber Avena officiating. Burial to follow in the Linwood Cemetery, Colchester.

BOURRET, Albert 0. Albert O. Bourret, 89, of Ada Lane, Manchester died Wednesday (Nov. 18, 1998) at Manchester Memorial Hospital. Born in Fall River, MA, he had lived in Manchester for over 50 years.

Al was the widower of Gertrude McLeary and Elsa Schaubel-Darby. Before his retirement he was employed by Lydall Fold Co. and was an Eucharistic Minister for the Church of the Assumption, a Cursillos de Cristiandad, a member of the Campbell Council of No. 573, Manchester Senior Citizens and the Legion of Mary. Albert is survived by his step-sons, Thomas of Manchester and James of San Antonio, TX; and a stepdaughter, Mary in Virginia.

He is a also survived by his close friends, Ann and Daniel Kibbie of Manchester. Funeral service will be Saturday (Nov. 21), 10 a.m. from the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 W.

Adams Manchester, 06040. FONTAINE, Roseanna (Dugas) Roseanna (Dugas) Fontaine, 102, of Willimantic, widow of Arthur Fontaine, died Tuesday (Nov. 17, 1998) in St. Joseph Living Center in Windham. She was born Jan.

13, 1896, in St. Gabriel, P.O., Canada, daughter of the late Joseph 8. Roseanna (Payette) Dugas. Mrs. Fontaine was a communicant of St.

Mary Church, and had been active and had held offices in several church organizations including: St. Anne Society, St. Anthony Society, the Legion of Mary, and Society of St. Cecile. Her survivors include a son, E.

George LaPalme of Chaplin; two daughters, Rita Rarey of Lisbon, and Irene Bunte of Ashford; two brothers, Ernest Dugas of Taftville, and Albert Dugas of North Carolina; a sister, Delia Gladue of Waterford. She is also survived by a step-daughter, Sister Mary Philip of Hastings, MN; 17 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, numerous nieces nephews. Besides Arthur Fontaine, she was predeceased by two husbands, Ernest Parker and Philip LaPalme. She had also predeceased by two sons, J. Ernest Parker and J.

Godfrey La-Palme; two brothers, Joseph and Donat Dugas and three sisters Blanche Gauvin, Lucy Guertm and Eva Godaire; and a stepson, Louis La-Palme. A Funeral Mass will be Saturday, Nov. 21, at 10 00 a.m. in St. Mary Church in Willimantic.

Arute, 70, of Clinton, formerly of New Britain, passed away Wednesday (Nov. 18, 1998) at Middlesex Hospital. He was born in New Britain, son of the late Frank R. and Florine (Andruss) Arute and was a resident of Clinton for the last eight years, formerly living in New Britain. He was formerly employed as a general manager for various automobile dealerships in the central Connecticut area.

He was a charter member of the Evening Lions. He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Ruth (Schack) Arute; two sons, Frank E. and his wife Barbara Arute of Wethers-field and William J. and his wife Theresa Arute of New Britain; a daughter, Cynthia and her husband Michael Calcinari of Plainville; two grandchildren, Frank C. Arute and Lauren Arute.

Balch, died Thursday (Nov. 19, 1998) at a local convalescent home. She was born August 1, 1921 in Hartford and had lived in Bolton before moving to Manchester where she had lived for most of her life.

Before retiring in 1986, she was an Operating Room Aide at Hartford Hospital and had ben with the hospital for 21 years. is survived by three daughters, Carol L. Johnson and her husband William of Willington, Beverly J. Kopp and her husband Richard of South Windsor, and Judith A. Manning of Lebanon; three sisters, Lorraine Cummings and Lucille Vincek both of Manchester, and Josephine Meker of Newington; four brothers, Francis Blanchard of Manchester, Kenneth Blanchard of Stafford Springs, James Blanchard of Windsor, and Gerard Blanchard of Fall River, MA; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
