Miss Margaret Love motored to Petersburg on Saturday where she is spending a few days at a summer cottage there with friends. She experienced a streak of bad luck, however, at the commencement of her trip as slie lost her handbag, containing her money and valuables somewhere between her home at Sll Longfellow avenue and the Garden Heights station. Following the business sessions of the respective classes, all joined together in malting the social period at once interesting and worth while, the ensuing time being delightfully entertaining. Refreshments consisting of meat sandwiches, toasted chocolate sandwiches, pickles, peach pie, ala mode, lemon and orangeade were served. Those present were Mr. and Mrs.

Wilmer Hinish and son Wayne, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Frederick and daughter Jane. Mr. and Mrs.

Wilson Burget and daughter Mary Elizabeth, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Miller, Mrs. Clair Baker, Mrs. Irvin Brown and daughter Helen Jean.

Mrs. Clifford Honsacker and children Gwendolyn and Clifford, Miss Alice Baker and Mrs. Dewey Kauffman. Members of the young people's department of the Curryvllle Church of the Brethren Sunday school enjoyed an outing at Jacks Corner near Loysburg gap last Saturday. The affair proved to be one of genuine pleasure to everyone present.

At noon a picnic lunch with sandwiches, potato chips, pickles, cake and lemonade on the menu was served. In the evening the picnickers gathered around an open air lire and toasted marshmallows, the while they sang and talked together. Games featured throughout the afternoon. Rev. and Mrs.

J. E. Rowland, Miss Alice Baker, superintendent of the Sunday school, Misses Kathryn Walterand and Hazel Latshaw were honor guests. Others present were Mabel Hoover, Pearl Musselman, Ruth, Naomi and Lucinda Zook, Elda Stayer, Helen and Mary Mock, Edith Brown Hazel Foor, Frieda Hollinger, Mary Grace Replogle, Ruth Rowland, Carmon and Jesse Replogle, Warren Bush, Charles Kagarise, Marion Gartland, Wilmer Wyles, Mr. Stayer, Donald Over, Clair Price and Walter Smith.

WILLIAMSBURG The moral nurture Institute to be held Aug. 4 to 8 is giving the people of Wllliamsburg and vicinity a rare treat. This institute is being conducted by Dr A B. Van Ormer, professor of philosophy, Juniata college, Huntingdon, under the auspices of the Wll- liamsburg Ministerial association and the Sunday School association of the (Seventh district of Blair county. The sessions each evening will be held in the different churches of the town and will begin at 7.45.

The evening, church and subjects are as follows: Monday, Brethren church, "Parenthood, Vocation or Avocation?" Tuesday, Reformed church, "What Is the Nature of the Moral Nurture of Children?" Wednesday, Lutheran church, "The Material of Morality, Three Accusations Against Children;" Thursday, Methodist church, "A Law That Must Be Obeyed In the Process of Moral Nurture;" Fridal, Presbyterian church," Application and Complements of This Law That Must Be Obeyed and Some General Observations." Dr. Van Ormer's institutes have been greatly appreciated in many places, especially during the past summer. The public is cordially invited to be present and urged to attend. A silver offering will be lifted each night to help defray the expenses. Over 100 attend the annual Sorrick reunion which was held on the Elmer Sorrick farm in Clover Creek on Thursday, July 31.

Relatives and friends of the clan gathered from far and near to renew old acquaintances and to make new ones. Those who were present from outside the immediate community were Rev. and Mrs. R. C.

Sorrick and daughter, Baltimore, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Marsh, Mr. and Mrs. Renninger of Summit, Miss Emma Sorrick, Mr.

and Mrs. William Sorrick of Akron, Aden Richardson of Pittsburgh, Miss Flora Richardson, the Misses Allison, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Flemming, Mr. and Mrs.

Ray Reed of Altoona and Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Sorrick of Sylvan Hills. After an enjoyable picnic dinner was served, a. program of singing, speaking and special readings was presented.

The Trossler Orphan's Home band of Loysvllle, known to many of the people of Williamsburg as the Loysville band, will give an open air concert on Saturday evening, Aug. 16. at 7.45. on the Methodist church lawn, located between the Methodist and Lutheran churches on Plum street.

Everybody looks forward with great eagerness to the coming of this band and it is with great pleasure this announcement is made. A free-will offering will be lifted for the benefit of the home.
