SCHMIDT. 79, of Medford, died Sunday at West Jersey Hospital-Marlton. Mr. Schmidt, born in Annandale-on-Hud-son, N.Y., had lived in Brick town for 24 years before moving to Medford a year ago. He was a retired lieutenant with the New York City Fire Department, where he had worked for 30 years.

Mr. Schmidt worked at the Butler Pharmacy in Point Pleasant for the last 22 years. He was an exempt firefighter of Huguenot Fire Company, and was an honorary firefighter in Point Pleasant and Lake Pine Fire Company in Medford. Mr. Schmidt was a member of the Old Guard of Point Pleasant.
