Hampton Moore, died on March 23.

Hofer Max E. Hofer, a retired leather worker, died suddenly on Monday at his home, 5044 N. 4th st. He was 84. Mr.

Hofer is survived by two daughters. Miss Louise Hofer and Mt.ss Bertha Hofer, and a son, John. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge 54. Funeral services will be held at his late home at 2:30 P. M.

He was graduated in 1911 from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Finance, and maintained his place of business at 220 S. 16th st. He was a member of the Masonic order, the City Business Club, and the Custom Tailors and Designers Association. Surviving are his wife, Llna Miller Harper, with whom he made his home at 8144 Arlington Highland Park; a daughter, Florence, and two brothers, Harry Harper, of Philadelphia, and Herbert Harper, of North Wales. Funeral services will be held at 8:30 o'clock tonight at Oliver Bair's, 1820 Chestnut followed by interment In Wilkes-Barre.

TSgt. McCaughin Rites Military funeral services for TSgt. Rodney McCaughin, who was killed in action while flying with the Air Corps over France on April 28, 1944, while be conducted at 2 P. M. Friday at his home, 2215 Ogden st.

Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery, Drexel Hill. Participating in the services will be McCall Post 20, American Legion, and Hamilton Village Post 488, VFW Sgt. McCaughin, who was 18 at the time he was killed, enlisted in the service in November. 1943, while a student at Benjamin Franklin High School. Surviving are his father, Morris and a sister, Mrs.

Margaret McLean. welfare activities, Mrs. Warner was Kathryn Worthington, a teacher at Harding Junior High School, Philadelphia, died at her home here tonight. She was 73. Mrs.

Worthington, widow of Eber Worthington, was born in Adams county, graduated from Shlppens-burg State Teachers College and lived here for 47 years. Rowell, well-known editor, died last night at the age of 80. He was a friend of every United States President since Grant. Illness forced him to retire two years ago as columnist for the San Francisco Chronicle. Mr. Rowell had attained fame as the militant editor of the Fresno, Republican and was editor of the Chronicle from 1932 to 1935.
