'. Angleton's Wildcats (3-0) .'have rushed for 519-yards so far this year, while ! passing for 407 more, for a • average of 308.7-yards per game. . On defense, the stingy .Yellow Jacket group up at Alvin have allowed only • 92.5 yards per game in their '. '• first two wins to date. Seventy-two of those yards have been passing and the remaining 113 have come rushing. Galveston County athletes who are doing well in the statistics include: Scott Clements of Ball second in passing, Kyle Kirby and Gary Miller of Texas City fourth and fifth in passing, while O'Neal Green of La Marque is sixth. Keith McLaren of La Marque leads the loop with a 42.6 punting average, while Vernon Spencer of Texas City leads the district in kick-off returns with 185-yards. Ball's Vincent Courville and La Marque's Odell Smith are tied for the lead in pass interceptions with two each. In 14-AAA, Friendswood's average of 355.7 yards per game sets a blazing pace unmatched in either district. Friendswood (2-1) has rushed for 778-yards this year and passed for 289 more for 1,067 total yards. On defense, it's the Wharton Tigers who lead the district with an average yield of 102.0 yards per game. Santa Fe is next in team defense with a yield of 110.0. Arthur Cruz of Hitchcock is the second leading passer in the district, hitting on 12 of 25 attempts for 236- yards. Marvin Berlin of Santa Fe is fifth with 16 of 42 for 184-yards.
