Conley, 27, told firemen he watched his father dying. As a last resort, he clipped a wire leading to a lamp, stripped off the insulation and put the end of the wire to his father's chest. The body jumped at the touch of the wire,- Conley said, but C. W. Conley's heart did not start beating again. Fire officials said Conley, 59, was dead when they arrived, and a doctor said the death was from natural causes. The younger Conley said he remembered a recent television show in which doctors gave an electric shock to restart a stopped heart.
