WITH ITS DESIGN WORK completed, Consolidated Western is now fabricating a tri- sonic wind tunnel for the new Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs. Specifications call for the wind tunnel to be designed and built to extremely close tolerances so that'll can be used in research and development work in addition to the training of cadets. The' wind tunnel will be capable of producing ah- speeds up to Mach 5 (3,150 mph) and simulating flight conditions in the subsonic, transonic and supersonic ranges.
