Television Forecast DOUG CLARK PRESENTS Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton star in "Divorce, His -- Divorce, Hers," 7:39 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday, Channel 9 TV divorce drama pairs experts: Taylor and Burton By Mary Shay Citizen TV Writer Tlie two-and-only Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor highlight this week's viewing. "Divorce, 'His -- Divorce, Hers," 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, Channel 9, marks the celebrated couple's first dramatic performance for television. "Divorce" is a two-part dra- 1 ma about a modern marriage corroded by the pressures of his work and her ache of separation. And, according to the ABC publicity department, "It presents, in a manner unique for television, the story of a crumbling of family ties and ttie desperate -attempts to somehow salvage . them through a series of current events and .painful flashbacks,. as seen by the two people involved. As with most marriages, the events and memories in the two stories come out quite differently." Co-starring in the film are Came Nye (Mrs. Dick Cavett) as a wealthy and bored divorcee on the prowl, Barry Foster as Burton's sympathetic colleague and Gabriele Ferzetti as La Taylor's lover. · ABC certainly has been working hard to conquer in the ratings battle, -and the network does deserve an A for effort. If the -late night "Wide World of Entertainment" comes across, in the words of Cavett, as "Wide World of In- decision," ABC should not be castigated for trying. If the return of Jack Paar was something less than a triumph, the capture of the Burtons on the small screen should more than make up for it. Despite the public's blase attitude toward movie stars these days, chances are pretty good : that the Liz-Dick flick will reign supreme in the ratings this week.
