Elegant New Stove Has A Built-in Look Tt you want fte style and convenience of modern built-in cook- Ing equipment, there's an unusual new free-standing electric range hat Win do the job for you without a Jot of expensive alterations, muss, or fuss. A manufacturer is bringing out a new free-standing unit, which has the Iqpk of «! built-in, but slides into place as simply as 1he conventional^ type. : ,; ·'-'---. ' . ·.- ' · . "" · . . . " . · TWsfnew- model provides ovens at convenient above-counter height and a concealed, cooking surface that pulls out just like a drawer. ;S;--''""-·;-';'..' : --.'"'.''. - · · ' . . ' v · ' · " " · ' . · Most; of us think of oven doors as swinging out or dropping down when opened,- but these are, completely different. This model's oven doors glide up out of the way. Because they do not open out over the cooking surface, there is plenty of headroom for the tallest utensil, and the ovens are easy to load, unload and clean--without stretching, or straining- . . The .ovens are finished inside in bright chrome and have shelf guides that remove for cleaning. Most of the'messy cleanup after broiling is eliminated, too. A high-walled broiler pan keeps spatters from reaching the/oven walls. ; : ... · .The oven doors are ; made of two panes of heat-tempered glass, enclosed: in a bright chrome frame. An open-circle filigree pattern is traced'in; white between the panes, presenting a rich appearance. Aside from ^appearance this filigree pattern has another advantage, too. If a;frieBd drops in and catches you before the oven has been cleaned, just relax. From across the room, the filigree pattern practically hides the interior. .On the other hand, when you are standing" close by, you can peep into the oven and easily see what's cooking. ? .- : . ; - ·'- / .'··· ' · · : ' ' - . Equally intriguing is the. functional cooking surface that remains hidden until you want to use it. The cooking surface works just like a drawer, pulling out at convenient 32-inch work height, or four inches lower than standard cabinet countertops. This puts your pans and utensils at just the right level for cooking. After "use, touch a release and the cooking surface rolls back where it is covered neatly by a satin chrome hood. If this range is installed between standard cabinets, this cover fits flush with the tops and fronts, giving the range the sleek built-in appearance most of us admire so much. · Here's another idea you will like. The full-width control panel is located above the ovens at convenient eye-level, but safe from the probing fingers of youngsters. Below the control panel is a full- width, fluorescent lamp, that floods the cooking surface with light Just about everything is automatic on this range. There are automatic oven cooking controls, automatic meat-tending thermometer, automatic broiler, automatic time signal and automatic appliance outlet. Some surface units even control the heat automatically K that food won't burn. These rsnges come in 30 or 40-indi sires. There are two ovens in the large ranges and a single giant oven in the more compact models.
