Dr. A. W. Buell, who was 10 years old Monday, is rc- iring after 52 years medial practice in Long Beach. In 1908 Dr. Buell, fresh out 'f New York Medical College, stablished his first office in he First National Bank Bid;;., under the clock," at 1st St. nd Pine Ave. He moved to he Times Bldg., then new, n the 1920s and a f t e r the 933 earthquake went into the ^rofessmnal Bldg. For the first few years Dr. Buell visited patients by horse nd buggy and bicycle. He las been associated with Sea- ide Hospital since it was at iroadway and Junipero Ave. Two years ago he was honored by the hospital for competing 50 years active prac- ice. * * * * DR. BUELL WAS born in Vermont in 1880 and came to DR. A. W. BUELL Retires on Birthday of Buellton was named for the ranch. Anne Gould to Address Labor Group Anne L. Gould, coordinator of the University of California's extension program, will be guest speaker at the monthly meeting of the Harbor Area Unions (AFL-CIO) at noon today in the Don Hotel, Wilmington. Business at the sessii under chairmanship of Ben Scott, Los Angeles County F e d e r a t i o n of Labor vice president, will include establishment of the Harbor Area Council on Political Hduca- tion. Harbor Area COPE's scope ncludes the 17th and 18th IN 1909 he married Eleanor Estelle McClung, also a graduate of Occidental College, who died two years ago. He and Mrs. Buell became members of Second Presbyterian Church when it was established in 1912. Their sons, Dr. Arthur H. Buell and Dr. .lames I. Buell arc physicians in Long Beach and Los Angeles, respectively. Dr. Buell was honored at a reception given by his sons Sunday at the Arthur II. Buell home, 1052 Amelia Dr., attended by many friends and relatives. Congratulatory messages were received from Hawaii and Connecticut. Dr. Buell lives in his home, Congressional Districts and the 4Gth, 67th, 68th, 44lh and 3215 E. 1st St., which he b u i l t 70th Assembly Districts. in 1919.
