Six youngsters ran in the $28,250 event with Rem a t c h b e a t i n g G r a p e Juice by a length. W i t h A n g e l Santiago riding, Rematch returned $15, $5.80 and $2.60 finishing in 1:16 1-5 on a fast t r a c k . Unchallenged f i n - ished third another nose behind. Rematch broke fast but Santiago took him back and then swung out for room and rallied to wear down the leading Grape Juice, ridden by Donald Pierce. G r a p e Juice returned $3.80 and $2.40 and Unchallenged, the betting favorite, paid $2.20. Grape Juice held the lead going into the stretch but could not withstand t h e challenge of Rematch. Santiago's victory with Rematch c a m e shortly after the jockey was suspended five days--effective Saturday.
