The women of Zion l.uthpran Church will serve as hostesses and the Rev. Paul E. Holmer will give the sermon. George Buest will present a program on banking. Newcomers The Newcomers Club will have a membership coffee from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday in the home of Mrs. Erwin D. Cooper, president. Hoard members and committee chairmen will assist Mrs. Cooper. Newcomers to Galveston County may call 744-0588 or 744-2334 for information. Club activities include bridge, sewing, bowling, tennis and gourmet cooking. Women's Aglow The Women's Aglow Bible Study Group will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the home of Sheryl Man- dina.SGOl Yale. The study "Tabernacle" will continue with the hostess serving as leader. Federated Club The Federated Club of Black Women and Girls will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Mt. Calvary Baptist Center. Mrs. Nolan St. Julian, Mrs. Reba Sapp and Mrs. Lilly Davis will serve as hostesses. Plans for the President's March and Dinner will be discussed, according to Mrs. H. L. Dansby, president. Golden Age The Golden Age Club will meet from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday in the Menard Community Center, 2119 27th St. The club is sponsored by the City of Galveston and open to all senior citizens. CAC Board The Galveston County Community Action Council board of directors will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Commissioners' Court Room on the third floor of the Galveston County Courthouse. Dickinson PWP The Dickinson Business and Professional Women's Club will hold a wine and cheese membership party at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Citizen's State Bank community room. Velna Troxlar, president, will give a brief outline of BPW purposes. Katrlna Packard, a member of the Harris County Women's Task Force, will be the guest speaker with the topic, "Women's Role in Society." All area women are invited. The party is part of the club's membership drive. Overeaters The Galveston Chapter of Overeaters Anonymous will meet at 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Seventh Day Adventist Church recreational building, 1628 Aye. MM-. AARP148 Galveston Chapter 148 of the American Association of Retired Persons will hold a games party at l:3Q p.m. Wednesday in the Gulf Breeze Apartments recreation room. Prizes will be awarded. Guests will be welcome. Organ Guild The Galveston chapter of the American Guild of Organists will meet Monday at 6:30 p.m. at. the home of Mr. and Mrs. E.L. Harbuck, 5201 Denver, for a potluck supper. A short informal madrigal concert will be presented by the Galveston Chamber Singers. Singers include Kathy Epley, Maureen Patton, Sister Jill Jaeb, Alma Young, Larry Patton, Gene Tavener, Kerry Ford and Paul Peck. The singers are directed by Larry Patton. Band Boosters The Ball High School Band Boosters will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the band hall. Members of the Prop Corps will serve refreshments and demonstrate routines learned at their summer camp at the University of Houston. Dr. and Mrs. Chester Burns will outline plans for the light bulb sale, the first fund-raising event of the year. Band members will be taking orders from Wednesday through Oct. 2. Quota Club The Quota Club of Galveston will meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday In Carnell's Restaurant. Evening Optimists The Galveston Evening Optimist Club will have a general meeting at 7:30 p.m. -Thursday in the Treasure Isle Motel. New officers will be welcomed, and retiring officers honored for their work. Grandmothers Galveston Grandmothers Club Chapter 277 will meet at noon Thursday in the recreation room of the Gulf Breeze Apartments. There will be a nomination of new officers and final plans will be made for the National Convention of the Grandmothers' Clubs of America in October in Miami, Fla. Hostesses will be Allie Mullins, Jesse Murillo. Zella Nicholson and Beatrice Nolle. A games party will follow the meeting. Santa Fe FOE Santa Fe Aerie 3789 of the Fraternal Order of Eagles will meet at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the lodge home. Families Anonymous The Galveston Chapter of Families Anonymous will meet at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the Crockett Place United Methodist Church, 4927Ave.R. The group is a fellowship of parents of young persons having behavioral problems during their breakaway years. Holiday Workshop The Galveston County Home Demonstration Council will hold a Holiday Workshop from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday in the Alta Loma Veterans of Foreign Wars Hall on Highway 6 in Alta Loma. The workshop will feature demonstrations of centerpieces, ornaments, gifts and decorations for all holidays. The event is open to the public, free of charge, and one is welcome to spend just an hour or two or the entire day. Those staying all day are asked to bring a sack lunch. St. Patrick's St. Patrick's Home and School Organization will meet at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the school cafeteria. Dr. Mary Ester Young of the University of Texas Medical Branch will be the speaker. Galveston Lions The Galveston Lions Club will have a luncheon meeting at noon Thursday in Holiday Inn. Harry Franklin, president and owner of Harry Franklin Chevrolet, will present the illustrated program "The Changing Design of the Automobile." Bank Women The Upper Gulf Coast Chapter of the National Association of Bank Women will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in Gaido's. Charles T. Doyle, president of Bank of the West, the First State Bank of Hitchcock, and the Bank of Santa Fe, will be the guest speaker. WAABI The Galveston Chapter of the Women's Auxiliary of the Allied Beverage Industry will hold a dance Saturday in the Eagle's Hall. The Don Westmoreland Group will provide music. Faculty Women The Faculty Women's Club of the University of Texas Medical Branch will hold a general membership meeting at 8 p.m. Friday in the Caduceus Room of the administration building.
