Miss Cashin received the award for her contribution to sportswear over the past year. A tie vote conferred Sporting Look Awards upon "Illen Brooke of Sportswear Couture and Rudi Gernreich 01 GR Designs and Harmon Knitwear. Sporting Look Awards are given for significant contribution to sportswear design over a minimum ten- year period. Miss Cashin's collection this past year included innovations in suede and leather as well as a line of sports furs. Among her triumphs were a monkey-fur skirt, a racoon poncho and jackets and coats of jaguar, Norwegian seal and baby calf. Of unmistakable Bonnie Cashin origin is the three piece layered outfit with leather shell (right). The skirt is light blue jersey. The back-tied leather shell, in the same color, has side- seam pockets and a pink and blue plaid lining. Ellen Brooke's design board makes a print silk jersey of sarong ancestry come out looking purely ladylike (left). In red and gold, the two-piece outfit has red buttons in back to fasten the top.
