Mayor Phil Thompson told the Rochester City Council Tuesday that Bob and Jessica Leonard who are interested in leasing the building to convert it into a roller skating rink have contacted several contractors for renovation quotes. The latest estimates for the project are around $30,000, Thompson said. He also noted that the cost of demolishing the building may be way below the previous quote of $40,000 to $50,000. The Leonards of South Bend, the owners and operators of the Plymouth Skating Palace, have offered to lease the building, provided the city makes the necessary renovations to the structure. The council decided that city residents can start burning leaves between the hours of 6 a.m. and <> p.m. until May 15. Trash burning still is not permissible within the city limits. Thompson said the city's annual clean-up week for residents who want to place unwanted items on their curbs for city street department pick up will be sometime in April. 5th District Candidate Backed Veto KOKOMO - Republican Pat Williams has indicated she supports President Reagan's efforts to veto a civil rights bill which was overridden Tuesday by Congress.
