MARCH 7, 1968 T U C S O N D A I L Y C I T I Z E N Kaydettes To Perform For Aerospace Days Choreography will be combined with precise military movements Saturday vhen the University of Arizona Kaydette drill team performs during Aerospace and Arizona. Days. An intricate exhibition drill pattern will be performed by the team at 11:30 a.m. in front of the Base Operations Building at Davis - Monthan AFB. University of Arizona military units participate actively in Aerospace and Arizona Days. Members of Kaydettes, an auxiliary to the Army ROTO honorary Scabbard and Blade, will act as hostesses at D-M for some of the scheduled events. Ann Grose is commander of the drill team. Faculty advisers are Maj. Ira Lynn and S. Sgt. Graeme Fountain. Kaydettes are now practicing for the Pershing Rifle Drill Meet sponsored by the Amy ROTC of Arizona State University in Tempe. The March 29 event will be held in Tempe. In April the drill team will compete at Disneyland in the district Air Force ROTC drill meet sponsored by the University of Southern California at Los Angeles. Sorority To Celebrate 116th Anniversary Phi Mu alumnae from throughout the state will join collegiate Phi Mus and their mothers at a 1 p.m. luncheon Saturday in the chapter house. The group will observe the 116th anniversary of the founding of Phi Mu. Guest of honor at the luncheon will be Mrs. Alvin Kirmse, who is celebrating her 50th year as a Phi Mu. Mrs. Kirmse will be initiated into the Order of the Golden Shield. She received her AB degree from George Washington University in 1921 and her AM degree from there in 1929. She was president of the Beta province of Phi Mu from 1921 to 1923. Mrs. Kirmse also was dean of women at the University of Arizona from 1929 to 1940 and a member of the Board of Regents. Among her affiliations she lists Phi Delta Gamma, Delta Kappa Gamma, Mortar Board and the American Association of University Women. Reservations for the luncheon may be made by calling Mrs. William Archuleta, 2103 N. Treat Ave. AFS Students Will Tell Of Experiences Three Tucson high school students, who have just returned from a year abroad as part of the American Field Service program, will relate their experiences at 7:45 this evening in .Rincon High School's cafeteria. The talks will be featured as part of the area meeting of AFS. Rick .Bradley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Bradley, will speak of his life in South Africa; Marian Slavin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Slavin, will tell of her year in Chile; and Barbara Burstein, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joel Burstein, will relate her experiences in New Zealand. Lee Carey of Rincon High School will moderate the panel. Letters will be read from two Tucson youths who are living abroad under the AFS program. Steve Rosenthal, son of Mr. and Mrs. Sandy Rosenthal, is studying in Germany; and Jim Scott, son of Dr. and Mrs. William C. Scott, is in Switzerland. Foreign students studying in Tucson this year will be 'introduced. The youths are from Germany, Austria, Brazil, Finland, Italy,- and Thailand. The program will be held in conjunction with the Rincon High School PTA meeting.
