Moore, from Southern California, will give a power-packed Message. - This Event is sponsored by various Churches in Humboldt County. Demonstrations Of Mosaics Given A demonstration of working with mosaic tiles was shown the Wha-Nika club, of Blue Lake, by Mrs. Maxine Horn at a recent meeting. The ladies were shown a step-by-step process up to the completed mosaic piece. Mrs. Victor Prasch, vice presi- ent, presided and the group heard report of the recent movie shown y chairman Mrs. Wayne Fraser. Irs. Prasch reported on a meet- ng that she and Mrs. Larry Kerk- had attended at which plans lo 1937. were made for a district workshop on May 19. The district meeting will be held April 19 at the E and 0 Bowl with the Blue Lake club as host. Mrs. William Kauth was awarded the hostess gift for the afternoon. Eleven ladies attended. Jordan's office earlier this week released the names of candidates for state-wide offices. In the congressional races, II Democratic incumbents and 1 GOP representatives filed for new two-year terms. Because of popu lation gains in Hie last decade eight new congressional districts also will be filled in elections this year. While all 30 of the incumbent congressmen fate opposition, four senators including President Pro Tern Hugh M. Burns of Fresno plus four assemblymen found .hemselves without opposition. In the Senate, where the current party breakdown is 29-11 Democratic, two Republicans and .hree Democrats decided not to ry for new four-year terms. Of lie incumbents who are running again, 13 arc Democrats and only Republicans. In the Assembly, 47 incumbents chose to run again, 31 quit, and 2 districts are vacant. The Assembly lineup 'now is 44 Demo crats to 34 Republicans. Of those running for new terms n the lower house, 32 are Democrats, only 15 are Republicans. Four assemblymen, three of them Democrats, are unopposed for reelection.
