O'Connell took the varsity games 15-9, 15-6 over Hitchcock with Stephanie Davis the leading scorer and Becky Collier the outstanding player. In the junior varsity games, the Bucs won 15-1, 15-12 with Donna Keimig and Lillian Padilla leaing the way. The next matches for O'Connell will be held Monday against the Ball High volleyball teams, with games slated for 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. at the O'Connell gym. Forsch, 10-6, struck out 10 and hurled his second shutout and fourth complete game in six starts since leaving the bullpen to Join the starting rotation. The victory snapped Houston's four-game losing streak and it marked the third game in a row that an Astro pitcher struck out 10 or more batters. Rookie outfielder Jeff Leonard scored the first Astro run and drove in the insurance run with a single. Niekro, 19-16, was touched for a run in the sixth on Leonard's lead-off single and Jose Cruz 1 double. Houston added a run in the seventh on singles by Bruce Bochte, Julio Gonzalez and Leonard.
