Pharos-Tribune, Logansport, Indiana, Thursday, March 17, 1988 Page 3 Board Of Works Clears Way For Security Federal Change Tradition Timmy Shannon holds the Irish flag while his brother, Mike, turns the crank to raise the banner at the Logansport City Building today. Looking on Cintiy M'ills/Pharos- Tribune are the boys' grandmother, Slyvia Shannon, and their 'parents, Pat and Marilyn. The family has continued the flag tradition for 25 years. The Logansport Board of Works and Safety today cleared the way for the opening of the new drive-thru facilities at Security Federal Savings Bank. The board voted unanimously to vacate a parking space on the south side of East Broadway that will serve as the entry point for the bank's drive thru facility. The board took under advisement a request from Brad Deane of the Apparel Annex, 529 E. Market St., to remove parking meters from spaces in the 500 and 600 blocks of East Market Street. Mayor John Davis said the meters are used infrequently, but he wants to obtain more information about the use of the spaces before any decision regarding the removal of meters is made. He continued Deane's request until the board's March HO meeting. The board approved the sale of a 1976 dump truck to Dennis White, 1220 Cummings St., at a cost of $960. White submitted the highest bid for the truck. The board also approved the sale of a leaf picker to Richard L. Gundrum, 1617 Chase Road, for $75. The board continued two property hearings until April 6. The hearings will be rescheduled for the James Waters residence at 203 N. Cicott St. and the Don and Mary McMahan residence at 904 Race St. Davis authorized Logansport Building Commissioner Terry LoCoco to inspect the McMahan house which, LoCoco said, has not been occupied for the past four years. The board also continued a property hearing for Ann Norman's house at 151:} Spear St. until April 13. None of the property owners attended the hearings.
