Skyline Pool ** ·/ ' · : ' '' ·" Opens Today Newly-opened Skyline Country Club's swimming pool, perhaps the largest semi-public pool, in the southwest, opens today. Of 180,000 gallon capacity, it is 42 feet by 82 feet, 6 inches, and has a 35 by 35 foot diving bay, which measures 12 feet in depth. One of the pool's features is the cool deck, socalled because no matter how hot the sun, the deck remains cool. Painted a buff shade to reflect the sun, the deck is made of cement with a special coating. The pool utilizes a diatdmacsous earth filter, whjch means that the water is filtered through powder^ rather than sand. Constructed of gunite, the pool features two diving' towers of one meter and three meter height which are made of aluminum boards on a cantilevered pedestal. Underwater lighting and specially built large steps are other features. Simplify Tasks In The Home In the past decade, two women for every man have joined the nation's labor force, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. Women now comprise one-third of our total working population -- mainly teachers, nurses and office workers -- and, with less time at home, they are seeking more short-cuts in house · cleaning. Here are 8 easy ways to lighten the burden of home cleanup from the Construction Research Bureau. 1. Much time can be saved by waxing wood surfaces such as tables, chairs, door frames, window sills and cabinet doors so they can easily be wiped clean, with only a damp cloth. 2. Use stove-to- table and refrigerator - to - table utensils in cooking so that food may be served in the same containers in which it was cooked. 3; Use your vacuum cleaner to better advantage. Vacuum away dust that accumulates on porcelain accessories as well as books on shelves. And to reduce cleaning of books make sure they're placed as close to the outer edge of the shelf as possible. This will leave no room for dust to accumulate in front of them. 5. On floors, install a labor-saving floor covering such as solid vinyl tile, which never requires waxing and can be cleaned simply by mopping with a mild detergent. 6. Use a water softener in bath water to avoid bathtub rings and other stains and permit easy cleaning of the tub with only a rinsing. 7. Arrange kitchen utensils so they can easily be found. Put those used most frequently in fronts of drawers a n d cabinet shelves and group similar utensils together. The same should be done with food staples, both refrigerated and non-refrigerated. 8. Use the new plastic- coated wall coverings to make wall cleaning only a matter of a soap-and-water rinse. · Career People 1 . Working Couples'. · Professional Folks!
