Thomas Wood Guest Preacher for Series Thomas E. Wood will be the guest preacher at the 7:30 p.m. service Sunday for the continuing Great Preaching Series at the First Christian Church, Sixth and Seneca. His sermon topic, will be, "On Going Up the Wrong Side of the River" with text from Numbers 14:2635. Mr.

Wood serves on the staff Thomas E. Wood of the Division of Homeland Ministries of the Christian Church in Indianapolis as executive secretary of the department of ministry. He is a graduate of Phillips University in Enid, and of Iliff School of Theology in Denver, Colo. He was awarded the honorary Doctor of Divinity degree by Phillips University in 1973. Mr.

Wood is a Lt. Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve as an Army chaplain, He and his wife, Peggy, have five daughters. The Seekers Sunday School class will be the greeters and -have the fellowship coffee hour following the service. The Chapel and the Chancel Choir will have the selected music for the service.

Dave Farmer, Les Brunk and Beck Irwin will be the ushers for the Sunday night service and the deacons will be Tom Sack, Tom Martin, Norman Hildwein, Melvin Driscoll, Dalton Maurin, and FredKesinger. "Man and Forgiveness" will be the sermon topic at both the 8:30 a.m and 10:40 a.m. worship services Sunday morning. Rev. Monte L.

Gravenstein will deliver the sermon at both services. The Youth Choir will sing the special music in the early service. In the 10:40 service the Cherub Choir will sing "Thank You God for Rain." Toad Strickler will do two piano solos, "Swing" and The Chancel Choir will sing "Golgotha" by Shaffer also in the late service. Pastor's classes for youth in third to sixth grade continue this Saturday morning at 11 in the minister's office. A two- week class will start Sunday at 9:30 a.m.

for youth in grades seven and up. Those-interested in participating in the class should call the church office. The bake sale sponsored by Christian Youth Fellowship has been cancelled for this Saturday. Plans are still being made for the CYF to hold a rummage sale on April 2 in the garage behind the church. All donations should be brought to the garage on April 2 between 9 a.m.

and 5 p.m. The CYF will have a general business meeting at the church this Sunday at 6:30 p.m. Chi Rho youth will not meet this week. The volleyball team sponsored by the First Christian Church will have their first game March 21 at 9:15 a.m., at East Junior High School. Dalton Maurin is the coach and Tom Sack is the assistant coach.

The players are: Sharon Maurin, Debbie Sack, Jack and Dian Pruim, Ron and Susie Jones, Gerald and Jane Gasko, Virgil and Winnie Henderson, Don and Joyce Bachtel, and Molly Porter. Hyman Jarrett, pastor of Sunflower Baptist Church, 806 Fifth will deliver' the sermon Sunday at the 11 a.m.

Special Music At Calvary Baptist "A Root Out of Dry Ground" is the sermon topic Sunday at Calvary Baptist Church, West Seventh and Olive streets. The combined choir will present an excerpt from "Seven Sayings from the Cross" as special Easter music. Mrs. Marge Eaton will direct and Mrs. Charlotte Goff will play the organ.

Elwood Knight will be welcoming deacon. Sunday school classes are at 9:30 a.m. The Baptist senior youth fellowship will meet at 6 p.m. with Elwood Knight. The Baptist junior youth fellowship will meet at 6:15 p.m.

Assisting the pastor as lav reader will be Mrs. Ladine Graves, The Chancel Choir will sing "The Penitent" by Van de Water. The solo will be sung by Harriet Clark Buselt.

Serving as interim organists for the congregation are Lester Dalton and Debbie Kochanowski. Mrs. Kochanowski will play this Sunday's service. Greeters will be Effie Kelly, Harriett Denney and Emorv and Svlvia Cox. Flowers will be in honor of the Brunsons, given by their family.

"More than Bread," the theme of this year's "One Great Hour of Sharing" will be celebrated at both services Sunday.
