Working with such pop stars as Daryl Hall, Juiio Iglesias and rap-music king Arthur Baker, Ross sings a wide variety of pretty good songs with more spirit thjiin she ftas mustered in a while. Inevitably, there are mistakes covering Bob. Dylan's "Forever Young" wis a big one but for the most parj.

Crane Is abetted In his conservatism by Toto members Steve Lukather (who co-produced the album) and Jeff Porcaro, who at least play with vigor and Invention. But Crane's scHigwriting Is banal; he has nothing to say. i DaYoung Desert Moon Like Steve Perry, DeYoung Is the lead singer of a bland hard-rock band (Perry's is Journey; DeYoung's Is Styx) who Is exercising his right to make a solo album. Like Perry, DeYoung's album avoids the brisk tempos and loud volume that made their respective bands famous. Like Perry, DeYoung's first single (the title song) is a baleful ballad.
