James Dunlap of Paso Robles, arrived by, plane Thursday evening for a visit with his parents, Mr. and Blrs. A. M. Dunlap.

They came here from New Orleans, having flown there recently on the first part of a vacation trip by air. Mr. Dunlap has plane about six years and has flown to lola previously. Owning from New Orleans, he encoimt- ered a rather new experience in flying most of the way over smoke and dust that has blanketed much of the south eastern quarter of the nation recently as a result of the drouth and the many prairie and forest fires. Complicating the journey was failure of his navigation instruments.

He came nearly all the way by radio direction, and while that proved a little inconvenient, it also was so accurate that he reached Fort Smith with complete accuracy, lliat was a scheduled stopping point: At New Orleans, the departure was delayed four hours because of. the "smoke ing," and about aU the Dunlaps saw of the gnnind most of the way was that dhrectly under them. ot Nevada is Citar TNevadato nidmamcd SMtT i taSnall 9Me i4Uud UStrip MScbod period ITAnnameie measure IS.
