The following resolutions were adopted at Manger, Williams county, North Dakota, for opening and improvements of roads. The farmers and citizens at Manger and Yandalia in Mass meeting assembled at Manger, Williams county, North Dakota, June 19th, 1908, made the following resolution: Whereas the roads leading from Vandalia and Manger to Springbrook and Epping on the Great Northern railway is in so much worse condition than left by the Indians before civilized man set his foot in Williams county as the roads are now fenced in where they previously under best conditions were passable And Whereas, the cost of hauling our grain to other markets will increase the hauling expense from five to tein cents per bushel and thereby hinder the development of this part of the country and reduce the purchasing and taxing ability of this community, and Whereas we believe and favor better roads throughout the county in general for the benefits for country and towns and of common interests and to bring them together, and Whereas the County Commissioners are the proper legal overseers of the county's highways each and every day during their sworn term of office, Therefore Be It Resolved by this mass meeting that the County Commissioners be called upon by a delegation selected by this meeting to take immediate steps to open up and improve a passable road between Vandalia and Manger to Springbrook and Epping and be it Further Resolued that we hereby ask for the co-operation of the public press of this county and the Commercial bodies of towns for the immediate improvement of roads, and be it Further Resolved that a copy of this resolution shall be forwarded to the County Auditor of this county for the benefit and notice to the County Commissioners of Williams county and to the press of this county.
