Elmer Stratton, of Saline, was in Leon Monday, coming up have a piece of nail removed from one of his eyes by a Leon physician. Capt.

J. C. Smith, of Des Moines, was in Leon Monday, enroute to Garden Grove to visit old friends. Mrs. Zed Gore went to Blockley Menday to visit a few days at the home of her son, Emmett Gore.

Mrs. Allen Dunn returned Tuesday afternoon from an extended visit at various points in Kansas and Oklahoma. Miss Hazel Frink, of Lamoni, came Friday afternoon to visit a few days in this city at the home of J. W.

Mrs. O. F. Dunn, of Des Moines, came Saturday evening to visit a few days at the home of Fred Zika near this city. William and Albert Grogan departed last Thursday for Minneapolis, where 'they have positions on a railroad.

B. A. Rayn, of Woodland, took the train here Monday for Cainsville to visit her daughter, Mrs. John Massey. Miss Frances Cochran returned Saturday evening to her home at Lamoni after a short visit in this city with friends.

Margaret Waignt, of Humeston, came down Saturday evening and visited over Sunday with relatives in this city. Mrs. D. R. Smith, of Hopeville, came Tuesday evening to visit a few days at the home of her father, David Shaw, in this city.

Mrs. Roy Attebury, of Pleasanton, was in Leon Thursday, being on her way to Lamoni to visit a few days with friends. Miss Nora Dobson, who was Senator Brown's committee clerk at Des Moines, returned to this city last Thursday evening. Mrs. G.

P. Bishop, of Humeston, came Monday to visit a few days at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. 0. Johnson in this city.

Chauncey Walker, of Clarinda, came in Saturday evening, being caller here by the death of his stepfather, Loren Tittle. Mrs. Fred Epperley went to Davis City Saturday to visit a few- days at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.

B. Hardinger. Ralph McGinnis returned Tuesday afternoon to Iowa City to resume his studies at the State University after spending the spring vacation at his home in this city. Mayor Jas. F.

Harvey went to St. Joe Friday to attend a meeting of the executive committee of the InterState Trail Association who met with good road enthusiasts of St. Joe. Mrs. Harvey accompanied him.

Frank Chamberlin, of Des Moinos, passed through this city Monday enroute to Leavenworth, Kansas, to visit relatives a few days. Miss Frances Clark returned Monday evening from a two weeks visit in Des Moines at the home of her sister, Mrs. J. L. Parrish.

Mrs. W. F. Houk and daughter, Miss Nora, of St. Joe, were in Leon Monday evening on their way to Cainsville to visit relatives.

Mrs. L. M. Nash and little son, of West Liberty, Iowa, came Monday to visit her father, John Ray, and other relatives in this vicinity. Mrs.

Mrs. Marion Stookey will arrive home Thursday from a visit of three months with her sister, Mrs. Cora Fithian, at Los Angeles, California. Mrs. George Kopp returned Friday to her home at Memphis, after a pleasant visit in this city at the home of her sister, Mrs.

J. M. Harmon. Miss Ella Kemp, of Osceola, accompanied by her friend, Miss Mona Kleckner, of that city, were visiting with friends in this city last Thursday. Geo.

Long was a passenger Saturday evening for Mt. Ayr, being called there by the serious illness of his nephew, Vernon Drake. Will Henderson left Monday afternoon for Wyandotte, S. to see about putting in a crop on his farm, and from there expects to go to Senator and Mrs. J.

D. Brown returned Thursday evening from Des Moines, where they spent three months while the legislature was in session. Miss Georgia Stewart, who is attending college at Des Moines, came home Thursday evening to attend the funeral of her grandmother, Mrs. Sanger. i.iiss Inez Skidmore, of Pine Bluff, Wyoming, who is visiting relatives at Van Wert, came Monday evening to spend a few days with friends in this city.

Young. Mrs. Henry Otten returned Tuesday evening from Creston, where she went to visit friends after attending the Pythian Sisters convention at Albia last week. Miss Majr Caster came down from Des Moines Thursday evening and visited over Sunday at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs.

M. McGuire and wife, of Humeston, came Thursday and visited a few days at the home of Mrs. McGuire's sister, Mrs. Ed H. Alexander, in this city.

Ira Lorey, of Atlanta, was visiting with relatives in this city last week, and went to Pleasanton on Thursday to visit his uncle, S. H. Lorey. Mr. Lorey is engaged in the manufacture of brooms at Atlanta.

Thomas E. Newman returned Friday to his home at Aberdeen, S. after a few days visit with relatives in this city. His mother, Mrs. -G.

Warren Sankey, who had been visiting a few days at his home in this city, left Thursday for Des Moines to resume his business traveling for an insurance company. Fred McCaull and little son Fred, of Des Moines, came down Saturday evening and visited over Sunday in this city at the home of his sister, Mrs. W. H. Howard.

Mrs. Herbert Johnson and baby, of Grand River, came last Thursday evening to visit a few days in this city at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Dale. Mrs.

Willis Frost and grandchildren, Opal and. Raymond Frost, went to Pleasanton Saturday evening and visited over Sunday with her son, Ralph Frost and wife. Mrs. J. H.

Voelker officiated as one of the judges of the debate between the Lamoni and Mt. Ayr High School, debating teams, which was won by the Lamoni debaters Mr. and Mrs. A. Merwin returned last Thursday from Port Cobb, where they spent the visiting at the home of Mrs.

Merwin's brother. They had an enjoyable visit, but all other Leonites Were mighty glad to get back to old Leon. Mrs. Bessie Bamber, of Grey Bull, Montana, who is visiting at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs.

J. E. Ownby, at Decatur City, visited a few days in this city latter part of last week, a guest at the homes of Dr. J. W.

Rowell and F. S. Stewart. Mrs. F.

Wells, of Ottumwa, who was visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Sowers in this city, was called home last Thursday to attend the funeral of her brother-inlaw, Lon Wells, who died Wednesday nigut as the result of having his arm torn off in a factory where he was employed, an account of the sad accident being published in The' Reporter last week. 1- Dog Owners Take Notice.
