Back from Santa Barbara to set to work on rehearsals for the new season that starts a week from next Friday, Mr. Stokowski yesterday said his programs will include a number of the following new works: "Short Symphony," a composition just finished by Aaron which Mr. Stokowski characterized as "asymetrical in rhythm and very "Romantic by Charles Wittel, a Pennsylvania composer quite a big work, composed on new "In Hutungs of Peking." sent to him by a Russian composer, Avshalomoff, founded on music played or sung by the Chinese: "Orchestra Variations," by Marc Blitzstein, Philadelphia composer; "Korean Sketch" and "A Chinese Legend." by Henry Eichheim, Santa Barbara composer; "Erewhon," by Alois Reiser, another California composer; a work by Brooks, a Chicago composer; "Jazz Fugue," by Martin Gould, another American; "Rumba Symphony" and "Cycle of by Harl McDonald, professor of music in the University of Pennsylvania; "Tango," "a new and interesting work" an Italian; "Argentine Dance," by Estrada, of the Argentine, and a concerto for two pianos by Poulenc, a contemporary French composer. Plans Informal Concert So many adults have said they'd like to enjoy the opportunity of the more informal type of concert offered as the "Youth Concerts." said Mr. Stokowski, that he has decided to give such concert in the very near future, open to all ages.

This will be a special benefit performance to aid the pension fund, whose object is to provide for members of the Orchestra in illness or permanent disability. Mr. Stokowski refused to comment on rumors that he has been experimenting in California in the field of "movie opera" and that he personally has been given a "screen test" in the character of Wagner. "Movie operas are possible--I have seen experimentation," he said. "The methods will be improved.

New ways of recording sound are being worked out. I'm sure this promises a wonderful future for opera, so that everyone, everywhere over the world. will be able to hear and see good concerts and opera. "For presentation as movies, of course. Wagner, Mozart, Gluck, Bizet and Debussy operas would have Associated Auctioneers.

Composers will write directly for movie opera, just as already they are composing directly for recording.

Mr. Stokowski expressed regret Willem van den Burg, first 'cellist of the Philadelphia Orchestra, has resigned to. become assistant conductor and first 'cellist of the San Francisco Symphony Or- chestra. He expressed great pleasure at the prospect of conducting four performances of the Orchestra in connection with the Ballet Russe of Monte Carlo, and pleasure in the thought that four Bach -Wagner programs are to be a feature of the concerts he will conduct this season. SUES NRA OFFICIALS Suit was started yesterday by Hyman Busch, manufacturer of cotton blouses at Amber and Westmoreland to recover $360 paid out by him under NRA.

In filing the suit he maintained the sum was exacted from him between January 14 and May 18, under threat of criminal prosecution, to be distributed among 48 employees who complained he had not paid minimum wages under NRA. He contended the U. S. Supreme Court's decision on May 27 makes forced payment of the money by him illegal. In the suit he names Harry K.

Sorenson, individually and as State director and Albert L. Katz, individually and as labor compliance NRA in Philadelphia. He stated a belief that the money had not yet been distributed among the employees. ADAMSON, wife 18. of the of late the William Oxford Adamson.
