J. F. Frisby, ex-clerk and recorder of Navajo county, returned home to Snowflake on the 31st. W. E.

Moore, a United State attorney, is here taking testemony in several Indi in depredation claims. Under Sheriff Bargman went to Show on business connected with the sheriffs office this week. 4, 1899. We have a case of small pox in town. Lynch's squaw is sick at the store. The place is to be quarantined and we are expecting a doctor to come and vaccinate the entire community. The trading store at Sanders has been closed on account of many Indians being sick with the dread dis ease.

Friday, December 30th, was the fortieth anniversary of the wedding day of Mr. and Mrs. WT. J. Flake.

Their children, grandchildren and some invited friends met at the home of James Flake and had a very enjoyable time. Dr. Woolford was called to Pine-op last week on professional business. Allen Frost and Joseph Pearco were at home during vacation. Alma Briudhall has been very sick for a few weeks, but is improving.

Messrs. Vance and Schill of Mesa are here on mutual improvement work. Chico. fever in town. Mr.

Perkins is still visiting at Salt Lakes. "That wedding" may bo the cause of a suit for broach of promise, who knows?
