HAIR CARE A child's hair can be damaged by permanenting or too tight curling. It is best to delay the first permanent until she is at least 14. If her hair is straight, have the beautician cut and shape it so it can be worn simply and neatly without the constant struggle of nightly settings. By OSWALD JACOBV There could be a lot of discussion about the bidding of today's hand. Did West have a reasonably sound vulnerable overcall? Should East have bid two spades over North's no-trump? Should North have passed two diamonds? Was South's jump to four hearts an overbid? The answers to the questions are: West had a doubt- I ful overcall, but most experts would have made it. East could have afforded a two spade bid, but lots of experts would have passed just as he did. North should have passed two diamonds. Three hearts would have been plenty for South to bid.

Of course, trumps could break nicely for him and he could find a three three break with East holding tlie jack, but South decided it would really be nice if he could persuade West to attack his deuce of trumps. Dummy's forced Ea.st's ace and South was able to escape with the loss of only one trump trick. Had he played trumps himself, he would have had to lose two.

Furthermore, it appeared to West that South was getting ready to ruff a spade, so West led 1, They've Arrived THE NEW HATS New Styles, New Colors, New Materials ALL PRICES Be Sure to See The New HANDBAGS Now Arriving Open Friday Till 9 228-232 W. Market St.
