Backs French. Steel Merger Plans LONDON, May lo7w-- Secretary State Dean Acheson praised tonight the French proposal to pool Europe's -coal, and steel industries. 'In a statement he withheld final hidgment said "I recognize (cith sympathy and approval the lignificance'-and- far reaching tent tl the French initiative." The proposal was seen here as possible solution to the major told war problem of how to integrate Germany's economy with the west.
