You are alwavs cordially wel come. Mrs. Jennie Cork Alexander, for several years a resident of Yale, died April 2, 1920, at the home of her daughter in Ypsilanti. Mrs. Alexander had been ill for a few weeks with valvular heart trouble, following an attack of in fluenza.

Last Monday, her condition being much improved, she accompanied her daughter to Ypsi lanti. Her death was very unexpected and came as a great shock to the community. The body was brought to Yale Saturday evening and funeral ser vices were held at the home on Tuesday afternoon, Rev. Alfred Martin, pastor of the Presbyter ian church, officiating. Interment was made in the Speaker cemetery.

Jennie Lee, the daughter of Thomas and Betsy Lee, was born Berlin, St. Clair county, April 9, 1852. In 1872 she was united in marriage to George M. Cork, of Berlin. To this union was born nine children, Bessie who passed away in 1917; Robert of Ft.

Wayne, Wm. G. of Speaker; Lee of Metamora; Frances of Ypsilanti; Edward who died in 1919; Roy of Detroit; Chas. of Speaker; and James of State College, Penn. After Mr.

and Mrs. Cork's mar- raige they made their home in Speaker until 1908, when they mov ed to lale, where the father died in 1911. In 191G she was married to Chas. Alexander ana tney nave since lived in Yale. Five sisters and one brother sur vive.

Mrs. Alexander was a life-long member of the Methodist church, and a charter member of the Peck L. O. T. M.

He came to Michigan at the age of 19 years. Was united in marriage to Miss Henrietta Mcln- tyre beptember 1, 18G9. From this union were born live children three sons and two daughters J. of Highland Park; R. of Traverse City; C.

of Saginaw; Mrs. W. Hudson, of VciDa. Cal. and Mrs.

J. A. Avery, of Yale, who with their mother all survive him and in his decease they lose a lov ing and devoted husband and fath er. He was an active member of the Methodist church for over thirty years. Was confident of his ex ceptance of the Lord and spoke of meeting eternal things as though he was going on a visit.

Besides the family he leaves a host of friends to mourn his loss Funeral services were held from the Roseburg Methodist church oy nis pastor. Elder White, assist ed by Elder Cline. Interment in the North Fremont cemetery. It is reported that there are 150 private stills in the western part of Huron county making booze. William Alexander, 8G years of age and a resident of Sanilac Co. for 48 years, died last week. The track meet will be held at Cros well on Friday, June 4. When a heavy bolt of lightning shattered a tall poplar tree near the residence of Thos. Armstrong, in Wales, the resultant concussion was so great as to shatter the glass in all the windows and the family of three were overcome.

C. Sperry, Yale. A little daughter of Mr. and Mrs Roy Colburn, of Applegate, was instantly killed last week when she was going home from school. It is thought the child attempted to catch a ride on a wagon loaded with gravel and fell off, the rear wheel striking her before she could get out of the way.

Jacob Rocke, a Peck farmer, has tile drained his farm with large tile. When he was doing the work many doubted whether this would be a success. He now invites all those who were skeptical to come out and see how well the tile is carrying off the water from the land.
