C. Shipley with a goodly number present.

Mrs. Shipley was assisted by Mesdames Leitwein and Burris. After the program and a number business propositions a been disposed of delightful refreshments were servedund all enjoyed the social hour to the fullest extent. J. M. Russell and A. Pet-tefer have made an exchange of property. Dr.

Russell will move to A. Pettefer's property on Frisco Avenue and A. Pettefer will occupy the Russell residence on Fourth Street. The families will move in a short time. PASTOR RESIGNS Rev.

H. D. Hunter, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, at the Sunday morning service tendered his resignation. Dr. Hunter has been offered a position in a Presbyterian church at Greenville, Tex.

The resignation has not been acted upon by his congregation. CO OPERATIVE STORE The farmers Union of Lawrence and Barry Counties have purchased lots in Forest Park and will begin at once the erec tion of a large store building. They have decided to put in a stock of general merchandise and the enterprise will be known as the Farmer's Union Co-operative store. W. E.

Stocker visited in Peirce City Saturday. John Boucher of Purdy, attended the ball game here Sunday. Mrs. W. E.

Thornburgh has been quite ill for several days. E. E. Johnson's little daughter, is quite sick with fever. Miss Jessie Johnson is visiting at Purdy.

Mrs. D. D. Parson's has returned from a visit at Reeds. R.

P. Hawk and Fred Hines are in Ft. Smith, on business. Mr. and Mrs.

Zweig has been employed at Callaway's store the past month. The Southern Methodist and Baptist ladies, who served 'dinner election day, believe in the value of advertising and patronized the city papers. As the dailies make a practice of publishing church notices free the ladies showed their appreciation by presenting the Editors with meal tickets. The windows are being placed this week in the new Catholic church building and it is expected that the work will be completed on the structure some time next week week.
