There was a cocktail hour from 6:30 to 8:00 p. m. Dinner was served at 8:00 m. Sam Merryman Jr. was master of cere monies giving an interesting and enjoyable resume of some of the highlights of the four years spent at AUHS.

Many'Generations Join In Reunion ForMrs.Wahlund Mrs. John (Ida) Wahiunri was honored at a "big" Humboldt family reunion, June 30, when her twelve children, 33 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren gathered at her Freshwater Kotne to help celebrate her 70lh birthday. During the afternoon more than a hundred relatives and friends arrived to extend their greetings to Mrs. Wahlund. The children presented (heir mother with her first orchid and a carnation corsage.

Daughters and daughters-in-law each served a turn at the refreshment (able which was centered with a cake, appropriately decorated for the cccassion. Not to be outdone, the grandchildren and great-grandchildren placed their tokens. on a 'money tree' which netted nearly sixty dollars. Presiding at the guest book were grandchildren, Wendy and Norma Wahlund. All but one of Mrs.

Wah- lund's children live in Eureka. They are John Ernest, Alllton, Clayton, Don- alri, Mclvin, Wallace, twins i William Wahluiid and Mrs. John (Lily) Viale, Mrs. Marshall (Bessie Alton, and I and Mrs. Charles Hastings, and children, Sharon, Sandra and Mary Lou; Mrs.

Annie Hess, Mrs. Bessie Peterson and Charles Johnson all pf Eureka. An unusual occurance Is. the fact tli.it a twin sister, the late Mrs. Charles (Alia) Wahlund was likewise the mother of twelve cblldreii, numerous grandchildren arid great-grandchildren.

The sisters also married brothers. Mrs. Wahlund has been widowed five years and would have observed a 50th wedding anniversary this year. She is seldom alone as there is usually al least one member of the family, more often grandchildren, staying with. her.

For the active grandmother (here is never an idle moment. She skillful- lends to a veritable nursery of plants In her garden. Always generous with her flowers, she can be depended upon to furnish blooms for decorating at special occas- slons such as (hose at the Freshwater grange she has been a member 24 years, serving In tho of Flora more than 15 yearsi of that time. She Is also a. member of Camellia Chapter of a White Shrine of Jerusalem, Eureka Fuchsia Club and a charter, member of Northern Humboldt Pomona Grange.
