Montalban's first and only previous Broadway work was as leading man of the musical, "Seventh Heaven," three seasons back. He made a favorable impression at that time although the show did not. BURT LANCASTER HRK DOWLAS CORRAL Tucson's Favorite EA 6-9023 Boy Friend in his First Big Picture PAT BO ELIZABETH SELLARS The test of talent Talent Is Still With Us By JEAN CORNEL HOLLYWOOD-- With motion picture producers scenting like a pack of hounds around every covert in a search for what they call "new faces and fresh talent to save the industry," there is a tendency to overlook the new faces that are already found. For instance, there is Elizabeth Sellars, who has just completed a co-starring role with Jack Hawkins in "Decision Against Time." This is a Michael Balcon-Ealing British production that will be released in this country by MGM. Both of these stars arc better known in England than over here, although Elizabeth Sellars was brought to Hollywood a few years back to appear with Marlon Brando in "Desiree." She remained to do "Prince of Players" with Richard Burton, then returned to Europe for a role in "The Barefoot Contcssa," which also had the late Humphrey Bogart and Ava Gardner in its cast. In "Decision Against Time," a suspense thriller, she will be seen as the wife of a test pilot (Hawkins). As a woman frightened by the danger of her husband's work, she has been given one of her most dramatic assignments.

A native of Glasgow, this Scots Miss studied law, of all things, for a number of years. Finally she decided she would rather enact Portia than be one, so she enrolled at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. Later, she spent a two-year period of apprenticeship in repertory companies in Edinburgh and Glasgow. In 194G she made her London debut opposite Alec Guinness in "The Brothers Kara- mazov." She made her first movie two years later in "Floodtide," and she increased her popularity with varied roles in such films as "Guilt Was My "Cloudburst," "Night Was Our Friend," "The Long Memory," "Hunted," "The Gentle Gunman," "Forbidden a "Three Cases of Murder," and "The Jury." Between films, she has made numerous television and stage appearances. One of her recent theater roles was in The Remarkable Mr.

Pennypacker." She recently took over Vivien Leigh's role in the Noel Coward London hit, "South Sea Bubble." She is not a beauty--that is, not by the accepted American glamor she has a lovely face with a hint of humor in its gentle lines and wide-spaced hazel eyes. But what is more important, she is a fine actress widi a background of sound experience that England still makes available to its young theater people with talent. Elizabeth is a great favorite in England, and it is a pity American audiences are not better acquainted with her. To me, she represents precisely the vitamin that our movie makers need in the way of a new face with plenty of ability to make her efforts worth watching. I don't know what her physical measurements are.

Tin's is one gal whose talent is not a bust. PAGE 20 TUCSON DAILY CITIZEN SATURDAY, AUGUST 24. 1957.
