(JACOB F. RUTH) Man gets probation in death of girl, 8 (I i Special The Inquirer LANCASTER A man convicted in the death of an 8-year-old Amish girl, who was killed in an accident involving a car and a horse-drawn buggy, was sentenced to two years' probation yesterday and then received tearful embraces from members of the girl's family. The man, Anthony Allen Good, 24, of Manheim, had been charged with homicide by motor vehicle and could have received up to five years in prison in the April 30 death of "ttie D. Stoltzfus of Gordonville, Pa. Her father, Jacob Stoltzfus, 39; her mother, Mary Anne, 38, and their two sons, Amos, 4, and Samuel, 14, were hospitalized for a period after the accident.

On the recommendation of Lancaster County District Attorney Henry S. Kendendine Common Pleas Court Judge Ronald Buckwalter placed Good in a special program for first-time offenders, ordering him to perform 60 hours of community service and to pay $200 in court costs. The accident occurred at 2 p.m. April 30 on Route 340 in Leacock Township, after Good fell asleep at the wheel of his car and struck the horse-drawn buggy head-on. Defense attorney John Pyfer said Good, Good's family and the Stoltzfus family had become good friends since the accident.

He said that after Jacob Stoltzfus recovered from his injuries, Good drove him to Lancaster Osteopathic Hospital to visit his wife while her recovery continued. 59, a priest who lost his parish in Chester because he allegedly upset too many people, died yesterday at St. Mary's Seminary in Baltimore. O'Callaghan had been pas-h qt of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church for seven years iwien he was notified in July 1979 Jhat he was being reassigned to Our of Sorrows Church at 48th t(Street and Lancaster Avenue in Philadelphia. 3 His parishioners protested the move, and, for a time, he vowed to fight the shift. "But in time," said fellow churchmen, "he came to accept it." The change in assignment was or-i, dered, parish leaders contended, because Father O'Callaghan was too in Chester's affairs and be-; cause he had upset some public offi-0 cials with his stands.

Chester's Republican administra-e tion was chief among his critics, parish leaders said. Archdiocesan spokesmen said some considered him "too abrasive." Father O'Callaghan, an outspoken man and a frequent critic of corruption and politicking in the communi-Jyj was also a member of a study Margaret Livingston Whiteman In a 1969 photograph Sprague; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, and a sister. A native of Philadelphia and a graduate of La Salle College High School and St. Charles Seminary, he was ordained in 1950. He served nine churches in the Philadelphia Archdiocese before he was posted in Chester.
