He had been there the past two weeks visiting his son, Frank, who has a farm there. Mr. Schmolke brought all kinds of green staff along and says they have it quit hot there now. The Acme implement agent was in this vicinity the first part of the week and sold a number of binders and mowers. L.

John Mischke returned from his trip to Montana last Monday. He went there to visit friends and relatives who an live in the neighborhool of Havre, Mont. He called on Joe Froelich, Chas. Benson and his son, George also on George, John, Conrad, Martin, Christ and Severin Vosen. They all have large farms and are doing well.

Misses Ethel and Rose Pearson, teachers in district 31, returned from Little Falls Sunday where they visited at their home. We are having a lot of rain these days. Mr. and Mrs. John Thelander gave a birthday party to a number of the young people in honor of their son, Eric's, sixteenth birthday last Sunday afternoon, May 18. The afternoon was spent in playing. games and swinging in their new lawn swing and a most enjoyable time was passed by all.

There is no place like Darling. The steam shovel, which has been operating in the Darling gravel pit for a couple of weeks past, moved to Westport Tuesday. Holmer Peterson and Walter Olson drove to Little Falls Wednesday with a load of potatoes for Fred Freeman. John Regnell sold some potatoes to Mrs. Thomas McCarthy last Saturday for planting.

Dr. Henry Newman of Little Falls was called out to the Herman Hanson home last Friday afternoon on account of a sick horse. Pete Newman of Little Falls was a caller, among the farmers here Monday buying up some cattle for the butchers in town. Herman Hanson and John Regnell made a business trip to Little Falls Wednesday. Charley Anderson was looking over his farm in Pike Creek Tuesday and Wednesday also repairing some fences.

Mr. and Mrs. Larson and daughter, Mabel, of Pike Creek were visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J.

Drum's Saturday and it was well tended. Mr. and Mrs. A. Gusten were county seat callers Saturday.

Ethel and Ruby Taylor were burg callers Saturday. Mike Schriner, called on Arthur Taylor Thursday. Mrs. Val Gusten was on the sick list last week. Anton Jendro of Elm Dale died urday.
