Holden, of Flint, is spending the week among friends in Yale and vicinity. Mrs. W. J. Ludingtou has returned home from an extended visit with On-away friends.

Ed. Cork, of Detroit, visited a few-days last week with his parents Mr. and Mrs. Ceo. Cork.

Mrs. Norman Uricker and daughter Audry, of Avoca, is visiting Yale relatives this week. Helena and Albert Iirough, of Lynn, were the guests of Wm. Collins and family Sunday last. Mrs.

Frank Kerr and daughter Lela and Irene Kerr and Faye Wight visited in Melvin Tuesday. Robert Fletcher, wile and son Clinton of Marlette, visited W. 11. Fletcher and family the past week. M.

IJearss and wife have been at Fos-torio this week attending the funeral of his eldest half brother. Harry McKenna, of Los Angeles, former Y'ale boy is on a visit to old-time friends at present. Dougall McLarty and Jim Isles, of Brown City, spent part of last week with Y'ale relatives and friends. Mrs. Ralph Stevens and son Calon, of Denver, are the guests of the former's sister, Mrs.

W. 11. Palmer. Mr. and Mrs.

J. C. Holden drove from Owosso in their auto on Sunday and visited Y'ale friends for a day or two. Mr. and Mrs.

Lester Clark have returned from Saginaw where they visited with their son Jason and family. Robert Lewis has returned from a week's fishing trip in Saginaw county. Bob reports a fine time and lots of fish. Fredda Holden accompanied Roxie Millikeu to her home in sarnia Thursday morning and will remain for a time. D.

Mihlethaler and family drove over from Harbor Beach in their auto and visited Ferm Hendershot and family this week. William and Arthur Kipp and their wives went to Aylmer, Thursday to attend an annual reunion of tlie Moore family. Thos. Hebner, of Alpena, was in Y'ale the past week calling on old-time friends. He expects to leave for the state ot Oregon soon.

Will Rapley's two sons from Port Huron were up visiting Yale relatiyes over Sunday. They were accompanied by two young friends. Mr. and Mrs. J.

S. Parks have been attending the semi-centennial camp meeting of the Free Methodist church at Battle Creek this week. Fred C. Adams, manager of the Riverside Printing Poit Huron, with a party, passed through Yale on their way to Cass City Saturday last. Fred Currier, who has taught in Alma college for a couple of years, is at Boston this week attending a meeting of the National Teachers' Association.

Mrs. Kate Menerey, sons Will and Albert and daughter Isabel are in Decker-vllie this week. They attended the wedding of Bessie Brown on Wednesday. Jos. Beckton and family were over from Caro Sunday visiting Yale relatives.

Mr. and Mrs. Chas. 11. Falruer accompanied them on their return home.

Dave L. Brown, a former employe of the Expositor otlice but- now employed at Houghton, is spending his vacation with his mother, Mrs. R. B. Browu.

Victor and Alleen Learmont are spending a Week's vacation with their grandparents in Croswell Their father took them over Saturday evening in his Brush runabout. Mr. and Mrs. H. M.

Keal, of Burlington, Iowa, have been here on a visit to the latter's parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Crandell.

Allen and daughter Ida May met hfm in Port Huron on his return Saturday and the three spent the day and Sunday in Detroit. Jennie (1 rimes, book-keeper in a chemical works at Holland, made the Expositor otlice a pleasant visit on Thursday. Miss Crimes was a compositor in this otlice several years ago. aiues Yuiil, eldest brother of Joseph Yuill, of Yale, his daughter Mamie, Edith Dinsraore, of (Joderich, and Charles King, of Belgrave, were guests of Mr. and Mr9.

Joseph Yuill last week. Mrs. Mahloh Bearss on her return from attending the funeral of her husband's brother at Fostoria, received a card announcing the serious illness of her own brother. She immediately left for West Branch. George Bricker and daughter Ruth of Greenwood were at Big Rapids this week where they attended the graduating exercises at the Ferris Industrial School.

Eden a son of Mr. Bricker graduated on Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. L.

Roy Fuller drove over to Richmond the last of the week and attended the Alumni banquet held on Friday evening. They report an especially pleasant time. OLD BROCKWAY. Irene Shanahan spent Wednesday in Yale. There is a good location here for another blacksmith. John L. Patterson had a large, plowing bee on Tuesday.

Mass will be celebrated in St. Joseph's church Sunday morning. Mrs. E. A.

Fox is reported some better from her long illness. Mr. and Mrs John Carney and son James spent Saturday in Yale. The A. O.

O. G. held their regular meeting here Tuesday evening. Many around here are planning to attend the celebration at Avoca, Saturday, July 2. Calvin Russell had a plowing bee last Saturday, there being 13 Xeams at work most all day.

Wm. Jacobs is having his large residence painted. Geo. VanNormau and sons are doing the work. Mr.

and Mrs. Cleveland and family, of Riley Centre, sent Sunday with the former's brother W. R. Cleveland. The Misses Ella and Margaret Mc-Kinney have returned home after spending ten days at Pearl Beach.

Henry Baldwin, aged 21 years, a well known resident of Goodells, died at the Port Huron hospital Thursday last week. The eleventh annual family reunion was held at Almont yesterday, Thursday at the home of Mr. W. K.

Hough. The State Republican and the Lansing Journal, both Lansing daily papers, have merged and will be published as one. Vernice Irwin, an 11 year old girl, graduated from the eighth grade of the Downington school last week. Her average standing was 91. For four years more Hannibal Allen Hopkins will serve St.

Clair people as postmaster, having received his reappointment. Here's a congratulatory handshake. Raymond Smith, of near Richmond, attempted to end his life by shooting himself, but the shot was not fatal and he is still in this life. Smith is only 21 years of age, but 6aid to be despondent. A barn raising took place at S. II. Erb's on Monday, June 27th. The rain did not hinder the work for the boys were all willing to take a ducking as the land needed a shower very bad Jy. The German Lutheran picnic was held Greenwood June 23rd.

A large number was present from around the county, among others we noticed Fred B. llrown, republican candidate for prosecuting attorney, and W. F. Wagenseil candidate on the same ticket for sheriff. All present enjoyed a good time and we understand the proceeds were over (Jeorge Perry, who was recently drowned in Canada, was bi ought to Greenwood for burial.

The funeral services were conducted from the Last Greenwood Methodist church on Tuesday, June 28th at 2:00 o'clock. Interment at Spring Hill. George was about 18 years of age and is survived by a mother, two brothers and four sisters. Mrs. J.

G. Kaercher died at the home of her son Andrew one mile west of East Greenwood on Sunday, June 19th, at 1 p. m. The funeral services were held from the Lutheran church at Greenwood on Wednesday, June 22. at 10 o'clock.
