Kim mel as chairman. F. M. Manning city attorney, spoke on "What Can We Do For Wood River?" A question and answer period fol lowed his talk. A piano duet was given by John Qulnn and Miss Doris Andrews.

Mrs. E. V. Giehl welcomed members of the Junior Woman's Club who were Joining the senior club. New members voted Into the senior club were Mrs.

Lucy Smith, Mrs. Fred Mutz D. J. Knbwles, Mrs. P.

Stuart, Mrs. E. Howard, Mrs. Naomi Wiegand and Mrs. G.

Mueller. The budget for the year was adopted. A social hour followed, with Mrs. L. E.

Ozier, Mrs. Paul Page, Mrs. L. H. Holland, Mrs.

T. W. fields, Miss Pauline Ross and Miss Ruby Smith, as hostesses. Birthday Party WOOD RIVER Mr. and Mrs.

Arthur Berry entertained with a party on Monday afternoon in honor of the eighth 'birthday of their daughter, Barbara Bee. Jiveland Open WOOD RIVER, Sept. 16. Jlveland will be open each afternoon from to 5 for a game period. Table games will be offered, as well as shuffle-board and other active games. All 'teenagers will have free acces! to the building, with no door fee.

Jlveland will also be open on Sunday afternoons from 2 to 5 for a game period only. No dancing will be lowed on Sunday. The Tuesday evening session at Jiveland will be from 7:30 to 10:30, beginning Sept, 17, confirming to the regulations set by the coaches of the local schools, which require thn members of the ahletic teams to be in at an early hour. A meeting of the Jlveland Board was held on Tuesday evening and a nominating committee to select new officers was chosen. A special meeting has been called for next week and the report will be given at that time.
