Mickey Thomas made his mark singing the hit single "Fooled Around and Fell in Love," by the Elvin Bishop Band.

In 1979, his notoriety outgrew the confines of Elvin Bishop, and he left to join The Starship as their lead vocalist. Backed by the power of Thomas' vocals, The Starship immediately scored a No. One hit with "Jane." With Mickey as their new focal point, The Starship went on to record an amazing string of hits, including an incredible four No. One smashes "No Way "We Built this "Sarah" and "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now."
